Tuesday was a sad day for the cricket crazy fans of India as they had to see the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League being suspended after the players were hit by the deadly Coronavirus bug which saw the game on Monday between KKR and RCB being rescheduled after KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier had tested positive for the virus. The following day Mumbai Indians were to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi off which Khaleel Ahmed is a part of but Tuesday morning it was reported at Wriddhiman Saha and Amit Mishra had tested positive which saw the BCCI take the hard decision to suspend the league.

Khaleel Ahmed speaks about the chaotic few days in the IPL –

Sunrisers Hyderabad were all in readiness to play the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday at New Delhi when the news struck that veteran wicket keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha had been laid low by the virus. Speaking about the events leading into the eventual suspension while speaking to the media Khaleel Ahmed said “I was in my room and I was informed that someone from our team has tested positive. We were all asked to remain in our rooms and wait for further instructions from the BCCI. After some time, the BCCI protocols list came in and we were asked to pack our bags and leave for home”

Khaleel Ahmed has his priorities right –

Speaking about the chaotic few days leading to the eventual suspension of the league the 23 year old left arm seamer from India was further heard saying “The BCCI and the franchise asked us to reach home safely. This was the first thing they conveyed to us. We will wait for further instructions from the management. There is nothing more important than life right now. I respect the BCCI’s decision to suspend the IPL for now. Right now, a couple of players have been infected and they might infect the entire team. So, the BCCI took the correct decision to send us home back safely
