Fans Slam Michael Vaughan after his tweet on Rishabh Pant
Indian cricket fans still cannot get over what they witnessed on Friday during the 1st days play at Edgbaston. Team India led by Jasprit Bumrah made a stirring comeback after being in trouble early in the day. Rishabh Pant was the man in focus as he scored his 5th test ton for India. The 24 year old was undergoing a bad patch of form with the bat in white ball cricket. In the test format though, Pant is a different animal as he is scaling new peaks with each and every innings.
The story as it happened –
Walking into bat with India 4 down pretty quick, the Indian team management surprised one and all by promoting Pant to number 5 ahead of Iyer. The move seems to have paid off as he scored am amazing 111 ball 146. From 98 for 5, along with Jadeja the duo added 222 for the 6th wicket. At a time when India were sruggling to score at over 3 runs per over, the partnership enabled India to touch 5 runs per over. Pant was out for 146 with 18 fours and 3 huge hits.
Michael Vaughan tries to troll the Indian fans –
Former England captain, Michael Vaughan is known to ruffle the feathers and loves to troll the Indian fans. While Pant was going great guns, Michael Vaughan took to twitter and wrote. “this is great viewing.,.. @rishabhpant17 doing a Jonny B”. this was in reference to the great run of form that fellow Yorkshireman Jonny Bairstow has been showing in the test format in recent times. Bairstow has scored 2 centuries from 3 test innings in the recent series against New Zealand. England beat the current test champions by a 3-0 margin in a comprehensive whitewash.
