India Cricket: Result round up from day 1 of Syed Mushtaq Ali 2022

 

Indian domestic cricket season 2022 saw the Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy kick off the red ball games. T20 variant of the domestic season began on Tuesday with the 2022 season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022.

Kerala vs Arunachal Pradesh –

The match between Kerala and Arunachal was reduced to 11 overs per side due to rain. Arunachal could score mere 53. Vishnu Vinod (23*) and Rohan Kunnummal (32*) polished off the score in 4.5 overs.

Delhi vs Manipur –

Delhi showed their power and swatted aside Manipur in a one sided contest to win by 71 runs. Delhi scored 167 with Hiten Dalal scoring 47 off 27 balls, chasing 168 to win, Manipur could manage only 96/7. Ishant Sharma picked 1 wicket on his comeback.

Mumbai vs Mizoram –

Ajinkya Rahane led Mumbai side broke little sweat in chasing down the 99 run target to win by 9 wickets with 57 balls in hand. Sreevats Goswami with 31 was the top scorer for Mizoram. For Mumbai it was Shaw with 55* off 34 balls who top scored, Rahane scored just 9.

Sikkim vs Odisha –

Odisha won the game against Sikkim by 9 wickets while chasing 101 to win. Pankaj Rawat with 34 top scored for Sikkim who scored 100 from the 20 overs. Former Hong Kong player Anshuman Rath with 33* and S. Senapati with 33* and A. Swain with 30 helped Odisha to an easy win.

Baroda vs Nagaland –

Ambati Rayudu led Baroda began the season with a dominating 7 wicket win over Nagaland. Atit Sheth with 3/7 helped Baroda restrict Nagaland to 90/7, as Milesh Patel with 33* top scored in the easy win. Rayudu was 10* from 8 balls to help his side to a win.

Goa vs Tripura –

Wriddhiman Saha and A. Tendulkar made their debuts for Tripura and Goa respectively. Batting first, Saha led Tripura scored 114, with the skipper scoring 5, Tendulkar went wicketless in his 3 overs for 20 runs. Tunish Sawkar 36, E. Kerkar 34 and D. Goankar 28 helped Goa win by 5 wickets with 11 balls to spare.

Meghalaya vs J&K –

The match between the two teams was a 9 over per side match as Meghalaya caused an upset with win over Jammu and Kashmir. Batting first, J&K could score mere 81 from 9 overs with, J. Wadhawan 26 and A. Samad 22*. Punit Bisht with 51 off 23 balls helped Meghalaya win the game by 8 wickets and 9 balls to spare.

Railways vs Uttarakhand –

Vivek Singh 68 and Upendra Yadav with 67* helped railways score 150 as none of the other batters reached double figures. Jiwanjot Singh with 77 helped Uttarakhand win the game by 7 wickets and 3 balls to spare.

Haryana vs Services –

The spirited chase by Services fell short by 1 run as Haryana held their nerves in a close contest. Haryana batted first to score 126 with Sumit Kumar top scoring with 24. Rajat Paliwal with 35 top scored but Haryana held their nerves to win the game. Former India players Mohit Sharma with 1 wicket and Amit Mishra with 2 wickets led the way with the ball.

UP vs Pondicherry –

Shivam Mavi with 3 for 4, Shiva Singh with 3/20 saw Pondicherry bowled out for 94 with P.Sivaram top score with 35. Chasing 83 after the target was revised due to VJD method. Karan Sharma with 41* and A. Juyal with 43* saw UP win by 10 wickets.

Assam vs Vidarbha –

Batting 1st, Assam scored 161 on the board thanks to Rahul Hazarika with 68 off 52 balls. A. Wadkar (49*), A. Mokhade (40) helped Vidarbha win the game by 6 wickets with 7 balls to spare.

Hyderabad vs Punjab –

Punjab dominated the proceedings against Hyderabad with a win by 59 runs. Punjab scored 174 thanks to 50 by Anmolpreet Singh and 19 ball 55 by Sanvir Singh. Tilak Varma with 50 was the top scorer as Hyderabad were all out for 115 with Baltej Singh and Abhishek Sharma picking 3 wickets.

MP vs Rajasthan –

Venkatesh Iyer had a dream game as he scored 62 with the bat and picked 6/20 with the ball. MP scored 173 batting first with Iyer 62 off 31 being top scorer. Salman Khan with 44 was the top scorer for Rajasthan who were all out for 135 as MP won the game by 38 runs.

Karnataka vs Maharashtra –

Devdutt Padikkal scored a hurricane century with 124 off 62 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes. Manish Pandey with 50* helped Karnataka reach a massive 212 on the board. Maharashtra could only score 116 to lose by 96 runs, D. Hinganekar top scored with 47.

TN vs Chhattisgarh –

T. Natarajan marked his return to cricket with 31 runs from 3 overs as Harpreet Singh Bhatia top scored with 49 to help Chhattisgarh reach 132. TN could only manage 126 to lose by 6 runs. Hari Nishanth (33), Ajitesh 23 were the top scorers for TN.
