Internet has a field day as ‘one over wonder’ Nicholas Pooran gets run out

The 4th game of the series between India and West Indies was beautifully setup with the series being 2-1 in favour of India. The location couldn’t have been better for T20 Cricket as the players slogged it out in Miami, Florida. India’s experience at the same ground hadn’t been great against the Windies and Evin Lewis’ heroics must have come to the fore.

West Indies won the toss and chose to field
Nicholas Pooran won the toss and decided to put the visitors in to bat. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav gave India a brilliant start in the powerplay, going well above 10 runs per over. It was then that the Indian captain lost his wicket against the run of play. After that, India kept putting on small partnerships, scoring briskly, but also regularly losing wickets. Axar’s brisk end and decent contributions from Samson and Pant ensured India finished with a competitive 191/5 in their 20 overs.

West Indies came out with all guns blazing
The Windies too came out with all guns blazing, scoring 3 boundaries in the first over. However, they soon lost Brandon King and that started a procession of wickets. Pooran was looking very dangerous when he took on Axar Patel, scoring 22 runs in his over. However, the fun soon ended for the Windies Captain as he was involved in a horrible mix up with Kyle Mayers and got run out. That ended any hopes of a West Indies win and at the end they lost with a big margin of 59 runs, and India taking an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the series.
