Radha Yadav brings India back in the game with incredible fielding 

 

It’s one of the biggest days for the history of Women’s cricket in India. The Indian women are featuring in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham for the very first time. They have a steep challenge in front of them facing the mighty Aussies. Memories of a heavy defeat in the last T20 World Cup final in 2020 would still be fresh in the minds of the Indian team.

India ran Australia close in the first league game 

The opening game of the Commonwealth Games was also between the same opponents. It was a highly competitive game that went right down to the wire. India having taken 5 Aussie wickets early looked in the driver’s seat but had the game taken away due to a brilliant partnership between Ash Gardner and Grace Harris. 

Radha shows her magic in the field 

In the all important gold medal match, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. Renuka again provided the team in blue an early breakthrough getting Alyssa Healy. However, a brilliant partnership between captain Meg Lanning and Beth Money threatened to take the game away from India. Radha Yadav though snatched the momentum back towards india by two incredible pieces of fielding. 

First, she cheekily run out Meg Lanning one Beth Mooney played the ball straight back at her. The left arm spinner collected the ball and quickly threw the ball at the stumps on the bowling end, catching Lanning just short. After that she pulled off a sensational catch to send the dangerous Tahlia McGrath back to the pavilion.
