Watch! Indian fans unimpressed with Rohit Sharma after he drops the catch
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been under pressure for a while now in the eyes of the passionate Indian fans. The 35 year old was tasked with the job of winning titles for the Indian team. On the contrary the Indian team has been having one of the most inconsistent years.
Rohit Sharma now stares at the prospect of losing his Indian T20 captaincy after getting knocked out by England by ten wickets in the Semi Finals stage. With the bat too Rohit Sharma has been under pressure. The 35 year old hasn’t exactly set the world on fire with the willow in his hand this calendar year.
Anamul Haque goes after Mohammad Siraj –
Bangladesh won the toss and asked India to bowl considering the challenge that lay in wait for the team batting 2nd. Deepak Chahar and Mohammad Siraj opened the bowling for India.
After a steady first over, Anamul Haque went after Siraj in his 1st over. The right hander first clipper Siraj for a four, followed by a cracking drive which also sped to the fence for a crispy four.
Rohit gets injured while going for a catch –
The 3rd ball of the Siraj over saw the ball cut in sharply and take the edge of the bat from Haque. The ball sped towards skipper Rohit Sharma who did not anticipate the speed of the ball and fumbled and dropped the catch.
The Indian captain was seen in a lot of pain and discomfort after that and was seen leaving the ground. The fingers of Rohit Sharma can be seen bleeding as he was making his way off the ground.
Siraj has the laugh as Rohit goes for an Xray –
The 4th ball of the over yielded 2 runs before Siraj had his revenge in the 5th ball. The 28 year old had the ball curve in and got Haque stuck on his crease. The umpire was quick to raise his finger. The batter went up for DRS and the 3rd umpire upheld the onfield call as Haque was out for 11.
At the time of writing Rohit Sharma was taken for an Xray as the Indian team was being led by KL Rahul. It is yet to be seen if Rohit Sharma will be batting for India and how much damage is done to the Indian skipper with one final ODI and test series to follow.
