Playing for the Birmingham Phoenix, Liam Livingstone the big hitting batter from Manchester showed his class once again. The 29 year old who is known to be one of the biggest and most sought after names in the shortest formats of the game was in his elements yet again. Playing against the Trent Rockets, the 29 year old got a low full toss from Lewis Gregory. Livingstone had a hoick across the line and played an outrageous one handed shot over the leg side boundary to see the ball coast with ease for a six.

Trent rockets face early jitters –

Batting first, Trent Rockets opened with Alex Hales and Dawid Malan, as Moeen Ali had the out of favor England batter Hales out for 1. Veteran South African spinner Imran Tahir then got the wicket of Malan for 9 off 4 balls. Tom Helm then joined the party when he had the wicket of Kiwi international Colin Munro for 11, while Benny Howell got the wicket of Tom Cadmore for 11 off 17 balls. Howell got two more wickets to finish with 3 for 28 when he had Cockbain for 6 and Samit Patel for 12.

Lewis Gregory and Daniel Sams power rockets to 145 –

Struggling at 53 for 6, The rockets saw captain Gregory and Australian Daniel Sams add an unbeaten 92 for the 7th wicket. Gregory was not out on 35 off 22 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes while Sams scored 55 off 25 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. This helped the rockets reach 145 on the board.

Moeen Ali and Livingstone shepherd their team to an easy win –

Chasing 146 to win, Luke Wood struck first when he had Will Smeed out for 1, Miles Hammond was also sent back by Wood for 20. That’s when English batters Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone put on 85 runs in mere 64 balls to take their side to 110. Moeen Ali became Wood’s 3rd wicket when he fell for 52 off 28 balls with 3 fours and 5 huge sixes. Livingstone was joined by Matthew Wade, as Livingstone with the one handed hit not only won the game but also scored his half century. Livingstone was not out on 51 from 32 balls with a four and 4 sixes, while Wade was 14 not out from 10 balls with a four and six.
