Watch! Virat Kohli in a happy mood ahead of the final test versus England

Test cricket is upon us and the Indian and English fans cannot wait for battle one more time. The two teams commence battle for a series and honors which began in mid-2021 in what was a five match series. This series began the 2nd cycle of the world test championships. India currently have the edge with a 2-1 score line after having won the Lords and Oval tests. England had pulled one back with a win at Leeds, while the Nottingham game was a drawn affair.

Virat Kohli seen in upbeat mood –

Virat Kohli is in England for the 4th time, and is looking to put the horrors of 2021 behind. Kohli stepped down as the skipper early this year after a series loss away to South Africa. The former India captain looked in decent nick with the bat in the warm up game against Leicester. The official twitter handle of Edgbaston recently took to twitter to post a short 1 minute 15 second clip of Virat Kohli. The handle captioned it and said “walking with the king, my life is complete” . Kohli can be seen walking laughing and joking with Shubman Gill with their kit bags. In the middle of the video, Kohli suddenly stops and pauses and smiles asking “Whats up” before walking for the practice session.

Kohli and Anderson one last battle?

One of the biggest battles, the world will witness possibly for the last time is that of Virat Kohli and James Anderson. The 39 year old from Burnley, has had the wood over the 33 year old Indian. Last year during the Lord’s test the two were engaged in a heated verbal confrontation. Former Indian left arm pace great Zaheer Khan, feels this could be the last time the two could do battle. Anderson turns 40 at the end of July and could be on the course to retirement. India do not tour England for a while and the next tour could be Kohli’s last in Indian colors as well.

Zaheer Khan speaks about Anderson and Kohli –

James Anderson was a young fast bowler who was yet to make his debut when Zaheer Khan toured England in 2002. By the time India next toured in 2007 and 2011, Anderson was already one of the most established seam bowlers for England. Injury and form prevented Zaheer from touring England in 2014 before calling it quits from the game a year later. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Zaheer said “the more you watch this battle, the more you enjoy it. But yes, I feel we might be seeing this battle for the last time. Anderson is not playing many matches these days and he seems quite close to retirement. There might be a big gap after this when it comes to the next India- England test series in England. It should be exciting without a doubt. During the previous series, we witnessed Anderson moving the ball impressively. He will pose problems for the batters for sure. Virat Kohli might also be troubled a bit. After all, it is never easy against Anderson and it will be a good challenge for Kohli”
