Watch: Jos Buttler and Rassie Van Der Dussen in war of words caught on stump mic

 

South Africa outwitted defending ODI World Champs, England to win the second ODI at Bloemfontein. The series is crucial for South Africa in particular as a clean sweep over England will earn them a chance to directly qualify for the ODI World Cup later this year in India. 

The South Africans had to chase down a mammoth 343 to win and they did so with the loss of 5 wickets. The star of the show was South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma who scored an amazing century to take his side to an improbable win. 

Jos Buttler and Rassie Van Der Dussen have a verbal spat - 

The heat of the game was catching up to the players. The home team had made a spirited started to their chase of the 343 run target. Rassie Van Der Dussen had scored an amazing 111 in the first ODI on Friday. The right handed batter was again making himself a thorn in the flesh of the English bowlers. 

Jos Buttler during the course of the play was seen getting visibly upset. The stump mic picked up the England skipper having a go at Rassie Van Der Dussen. The English captain was heard saying " what's your problem Rassie? It's not about you all the time. The South African did not take a backseat when he replied "no it's about you " 

Things get heated before umpires intervene - 

The entire incident happened when Jos Buttler when to take a catch of Rassie Van Der Dussen off the bowling of Adil Rashid. The South African batter seemed to want to know where the batter had landed and this created a confusion. Buttler though was unrelenting and kept going at Rassie and said " I'm allowed to catch the ball. What do you want me to do?. The continued verbal spat caught the attention of the umpires who asked the two players to calm down. 

Bavuma leads South Africa to an important win - 

Chasing 343 to win, Temba Bavuma scored his third ODI century. Bavuma scored 109 off 102 balls with 14 fours and a six. Quinton de Kock scored 31 while Rassie Van Der Dussen scored run a ball 38. Aiden Markram with 49 and followed by 19 ball 27 by Heinrich Klassen kept the momentum going for South Africa. David Miller who scored an unbeaten half century in the first game scored yet another half century. Miller was not out on 58 off 37 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes as Marco Jansen kept him company on 29 not out as SA won the game with 5 wickets in hand and 5 balls left.
