IPL 2023: Watch! Prithvi Shaw’s close friend celebrates after the batter scores half century
Delhi Capitals on Wednesday beat Punjab Kings by 15 runs in a high scoring game played at Dharamsala ground. Delhi, were already out of the tournament before their game on Wednesday. For Punjab this loss is now a major blow to their chances to reach the final 4 stages of the tournament.
Prithvi Shaw makes a stunning comeback –
23 year old Prithvi Shaw was in amazing form with the bat during the Ranji Trophy season. This season of TATA IPL saw the young opener from Mumbai have a tough time. This meant his lost his place in the side to Phil Salt, but Shaw scored an amazing fifty to comeback to form. Shaw scored 54 off 38 balls with a six and 7 fours and celebrated his half century and came up with a unique celebration.
While Shaw was celebrating at the Dharamsala ground at Himachal Pradesh, there was celebration in his near and dear ones too. Nidhi Tapadia posted a picture of herself on the social media imitating the celebration done by Shaw.
Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and chose to bowl first on what was a great pitch to bat on. David Warner scored 46, while Shaw scored 54 with both the openers falling to Sam Curran. The top scorer for Delhi was Rilee Rossouw with 82 not out while Phil Salt remained unbeaten on 26 to help Delhi reach 213.
Punjab Kings fall short despite Livingstone’s efforts –
Chasing 214 to win, Shikhar Dhawan was out for a 1st ball duck. Prabhsimran Singh who scored a century the last time the two teams met was out for 22. Atharva Taide scored 55 before becoming retired out. Taide scored his runs off 42 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Liam Livingstone was the top scorer for Punjab with 94 off 48 balls with 5 fours and 9 huge sixes. For Delhi, Ishant Sharma and Nortje picked 2 wickets each while Khaleel Ahmed and Axar Patel picked a wicket each.
