IPL 2023: Watch! Twitter reacts to Marcus Stoinis reaction to Ravindra Jadeja’s terrific delivery to dismiss him

 

Lucknow Super Giants took to the field again on Wednesday after the chaotic scenes on Monday. This time, they were hosting Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow. After the heated scenes witnessed on Monday, the fans in the stadium, watching on television and across the world were happy to see cricket take centerstage once again.

The story so far –

KL Rahul earlier in the day was ruled out of the IPL season, due to the injury he suffered on Monday. The captaincy baton was given to Krunal Pandya, as MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first. The conditions were overcast, as Chennai went in with the same team. Lucknow had Manan Vohra and Karan Sharma come into the team, Mohsin Khan who was injured before the start of the tournament, was playing his 1st game of the season.

Jadeja bowls the ball of the tournament –

Chennai bowlers were all over Lucknow batting line up as the home team found runs hard to come by. Bowling the 7th over and the pitching offering turn, Jadeja was making the ball talk. The left arm spinner was bowling to Marcus Stoinis who has been in good form with the bat this season.

Jadeja bowled the ball and it pitched on the leg stump, but the pitch was aiding huge turn. The ball turned a long way to take the top of off stump, much to the delight of the Chennai team. Marcus Stoinis, meanwhile was standing there shocked as he looked around and asked the umpires. The officials confirmed the batter was out as Stoinis made his way back to hut for 6.

Ayush Badoni wages lone battle –

The day belonged to young Ayush Badoni who scored his first every IPL half century. 23 year old Badoni was not out on 59 off 33 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes, before rain stopped play.

Openers, Kyle Mayers (14) and Manan Vohra (10), fell to Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana. Krunal Pandya fell for a 1st ball duck, thanks to an outstanding catch by Rahane off Theekshana, while Karan Sharma fell for 9 to Moeen Ali. Big hitting Nicolas Pooran struggled to score 20 off 31 balls, and when Gowtham fell for 1, the score was reading 125/7 with 4 more balls left in the innings.
