Mayanti Langer takes on the haters while lauding husband Stuart Binny
It is said behind every successful man there is a woman and one cannot dispute with this age old saying. On many occasions it is the sheer will and strong resolve of a woman that drives and eggs a man to greater heights and Mayanti Langer is a perfect example of it. The well-known sports anchor and presenter recently took to twitter and laud her husband, former Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny as he achieved a special feat in his domestic career.
The story as it happened
March 1st, 2021 was a special day for Stuart Binny as the 36 year old played his 100th List A game while turning out for the unfancied Nagaland. Mayanti Langer who is a famous sports presenter and anchor is also the wife of the cricketer and she couldn’t hide her glee and also took an aim at the haters who for years had trolled Stuart Binny on social media. Mayanti posted a grab of the Instagram story she had posted where Binny had captioned himself getting ready for the big game and written “the day has come where I walk out for my 100 list A game… blessed” to which Mayanti wrote A 100 that has been 17 years in the making. In the same screen grab the proud wife had posted a message on Instagram saying “Congratulations on yet another achievement champ” Mayanti then posted the screenshot of the Instagram story on twitter and captioned it saying “to the haters, but mainly to the supporters” Stuart Binny would have made his wife proud as he helped Nagaland win the Vijay Hazare trophy game against Arunachal Pradesh where he scored a quick fire 55 off of 37 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 huge sixes to win the game for his side with more than 7 overs to go.

Stuart Binny made his India debut early in 2014 during the tour of New Zealand and made his test debut same year against England at Nottingham. Binny had played 6 test matches last of which came against South Africa in his home ground at Bangalore. He scored 194 test runs and picked 3 wickets. In 14 ODI games for India he scored 230 runs with one half-century and picked 20 wickets for India and holds the record for the best bowling figures by an Indian in ODI cricket with figures of 6 wickets for 4 runs against Bangladesh in a low scoring encounter. Binny went unsold in this year of IPL auctions but has played 95 games in the IPL scoring 880 runs and picking 22 wickets with his last appearance in the league coming in the 2019 for Rajasthan Royals.
