Star Indian player set to make a return to cricket during TATA IPL 2023
Indian Premier League 2023 is set to kick on March 31st. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya will begin their defense at Ahmedabad. The first match of the tournament will witness Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings clash as MS Dhoni begins his last season as active cricketer.
Ahead of the season few of the Indian players are slowly coming back to fitness. One of the biggest names his none other than Jasprit Bumrah. The 29 year old hasn’t played cricket since 25th September when he played a T20 at Hyderabad against Australia.
Star player set for return –
30 year old Deepak Chahar had a miserable 2022 as injuries spoiled his chances for an extended spell with the men in blue. Chahar last played for India during the tour of Bangladesh, where he got injured during the 2nd ODI which India lost by 5 runs.
Chahar speaks about his readiness to make a comeback –
Deepak Chahar was bought for over 14 crores during the TATA IPL 2022 auction. The right arm pace bowler missed the entire season due to an injury. Speaking to news outlet PTI, Chahar said “I was working hard on my fitness for the past 2-3 months. I am fully fit and preparing well for IPL”
Further talking abut his injuries, Chahar said “I had two big injuries. One was stress fracture and one was quad grade 3 tear. They are both very big injuries. You are out for months, anyone who comes back after the injury it takes time specially for the fast bowlers”
Chahar reveals the difficult of being a fast bowler –
MS Dhoni struggled a lot when Deepak Chahar wasn’t part of the team. this year CSK will look to Chahar and Chaudhary form a dream combination with the white new ball. Chahar further said “if I was a batter I would have played long time ago, but as a fast bowler when you have stress fracture, it is very tough to get back on track. You can see other bowlers struggling with the back as well”
Fast bowlers eyes the world cup berth –
Deepak Chahar has said that he wants to play for India during the ICC Cricket World Cup. The show piece event will be held in India towards the end of this year. The 30 year old right arm pacer from Rajasthan now wants to nail down a spot in the Indian team for the ultimate prize in the game.
Chahar revealed “I live by 1 rule in my life, if I am fully bowling the way I want, there is no stopping me. That was the basic rule with which I started my career. I don’t care who is playing who isn’t playing, my motive is to get fully fit and perform with the ball and bat 100%, if I do that I will get my chances”
