India on Saturday completed a comprehensive win the first test. The Australian team was bowled out in one session post lunch before tea. Team India won the game by and innings and 132 runs to take 1-0 lead in the series. The win was possible due to Ravi Ashwin’s 31st test five wicket haul. It was a familiar tale for the visitors as they folded within one session against high quality Indian spin where they had no answers to.

It was trial by fire for Australia as they were outdone by the Indian spinners on the 3rd day of the test match. During the 2nd Innings, the cameras got panned towards, Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper was hilarious in his forthright views when he said “Abey Mujhe Kya Dikha Raha, Udhar Dikha na”

India began the day at 321/7 and lost the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja soon. The left hander left a ball from Lyon which came back in to knock his off pole. Jadeja scored 70 off 185 balls with 9 hits to the fence. The fall of Jadeja saw Shami walk to the wicket.

Shami added 52 runs for the 9th wicket along with Axar Patel as he scored 37 off 47 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Shami fell to Murphy to give his 7th wicket of the innings. Patel was the last man out for 84 when he was foxed by a slower ball by Cummins to be bowled.

Indian bowlers decimate Australia

Trailing by 223 runs, with 2 and half days to go, the Australians did not last a session. Ashwin picked 5/37, while Jadeja and Shami picked 2 wickets each with Axar Patel picking 1. Ashwin who had become the 2nd fastest to 450 test wickets got rid off both the openers.

The top scorer for Australia was Steve Smith who was not out on 26, while Marnus Labuschagne scored 17. Warner and Carey both scored 10 each as all the batter fell to the wily Indian spinners.
