WPL 2023: Deandra Dottin slams Gujarat Giants for non inclusion in Women’s Premier League

 

The Inaugural season of Women’s Premier League has seen some amazing cricket being. All the 5 teams have played some amazing cricket, with Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals qualifying for the final stages of the tournament. The game on Monday witnessed Gujarat Giants taking on UP Warriorz, with Gujarat needing a win to stay alive in the tournament.

Dottin, was scheduled to play for Gujarat Giants in the 1st edition of the Women’s Premier League season. Just before the season could begin, the West Indian was withdrawn from the tournament with a replacement named. This was due to health issues as mentioned by the franchise.

With Women’s IPL in its final few days, Deandra Dottin has released a full fledged statement. The West Indian has slammed Gujarat Giants and minced no words in a long statement she had posted on her social media account.

Dottin expresses her disappointment –

Taking to Twitter, Dottin wrote “in light of ongoing speculation surrounding my exclusion from this year’s Women’s Premier League, Please find attached, a brief statement from me that addresses and clarifies the events that led to my omission from the inaugural WPL tournament earlier this month”.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants both have 4 points each. Win for Giants on Monday will see Bangalore get knocked out of the competition. RCB have won 2 games in a row after having a terrible start to the season by losing 5 games on the trot.
