TATA IPL 2022 season’s 64th game is witnessing Delhi Capitals take on Punjab Kings at the DY Patil Stadium. The game has massive significance as a win for either of the side will see them climb to the 4th position in the table. The winner of the game is certain to push RCB into the 5th place on the basis of Run-rate, since both the teams have a healthy run-rate ration in the positive. Both the teams have displayed inconsistent form in the tournament and would want to put their best foot forward in the biggest game of their season so far.
The story as it occurred –
Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first and went in with the same team. Delhi Capitals made two changes as Khaleel Ahmed and Sarfaraz Khan came in for Srikar Bharat and Chetan Sakaria. The DC team sent in Sarfaraz to open the innings with Warner and this is where the entire sequence of events began.
Starting troubles for David Warner-
Mayank Agarwal gave the first over to Liam Livingstone and Sarfaraz Khan was all ready to take the first strike. Seeing the spin of Livingstone, the Australian decided to take first strike and sent the young Indian to the non-strikers end. The change of tactics did not deter the Englishman though. He was quick to bowl a ball floated outside off-stump and Warner went for a drive. The Australian was shocked as he was dismissed for a first ball duck.

Despite the early loss of Warner, Delhi saw Marsh take the attack to the opposition. The 30 year old all-rounder proved yet again why he is regarded highly in this format of the game. He put on 51 for the 2nd wicket with Sarfaraz Khan as the Delhi batters scored at over 10 runs per over. Marsh was out for well made 63 off 48 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. This was his 2nd successive half century after his 89 in the previous game.
