TATA IPL 2022 has finally drawn to a close and the debutants of the tournament, Gujarat have won the title. Gujarat won the title in their home ground at Ahmedabad on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Hardik Pandya led side won the game by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare as a crowd of over 100,000 voiced their delight. When Shubman Gill struck a huge six the stadium came unglued as the players rushed on to the field to congratulate the two batters in the middle on the historic night.
Buttler loses his cool after losing his wicket –
Jos Buttler has the best batsman across all IPL this year with over 800 runs. He looked in ominous touch during the final as well, despite losing his partners at the other end. Jos Buttler was on 39 when he edged Hardik Pandya behind to Saha for an easy catch. Buttler seemed livid at the way he was out and as he was making his way back to the dugout, he throw his gloves and his helmet. This was Pandya’s 2nd wicket and it came at a crucial time for GT.

Samson and Buttler added 29 more runs for the 2nd wicket before the RR captain became GT captain’s 1st wicket caught again by Sai Kishore. RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Buttler top scoring with 39.
Gill stays not out to win the title for GT –
Chasing 131 to win, GT were put under the test by the pair of Krishna and Boult. Saha was bowled by a cracker of a delivery by Krishna for 6, this got Wade to the middle. The Australian who hasn’t had an IPL to remember fell for 8 caught by Parag of Boult. Pandya and Gill then steadied the ship with a 63 run stand before Chahal got rid off Pandya off the last ball of his spell to claim the purple cap. From there it was all GT as Miller and Gill knocked off the runs in grand style. Miller was not out on 32 off 19 balls with 3 fours and a six, while Gill was not out 45 off 43 wioth 3 fours and a six.
