Virat Kohli for the billions of Indians isn’t just a cricketer. For many he is an emotion and he is a player that is class above the rest. Ever since 2019, the former Indian captain has struggled with the bat.

Virat Kohli began this ODI series with scores of 9 and 5 in the 1st two ODI games at Mirpur. In the first ODI he was out to a spectacular catch by Liton Das. In the 2nd game he was out bowled for 5 by Ebadot Hossain sparking massive celebrations.

An early reprieve for Kohli –

Shikhar Dhawan was out for 3 after he fell to the off spin of Mehidy Hasan to continue his bad form with the bat. Kohli joined Ishan Kishan in the middle and faced up to Mehidy Hasan.

The first few moments weren’t easy as he nearly gave an easy catch to Bangladeshi captain Liton Das. The opposition skipper dropped an easy catch as Virat Kohli was both shocked and relieved after getting the much needed life.

Plays 2nd fiddle to Ishan Kishan –

Ishan Kishan was going all guns blazing in his end as he was making a mockery of the Bangladeshi attack. Kohli on the other hand was content to take the ones and two’s and give the strike back to the youngster and play the role of the mentor.

Kohli had not yet reached his 50 when Kishan was way past his 50 and nearly reaching the 150 mark. Kohli then go to his half century in 54 balls having hit 4 fours in his innings.

Flicking his way to a milestone –

Once he was past his 50, Kohli unleashed some trademark shots as he got into overdrive. By the time Kishan was reaching his 200, Kohli was not starting to impose himself on the opposition.

The former Indian skipper flicked the ball for a six and thus ending the wait for an ODI ton. To be precise this was after 1214 days Kohli had scored an ODI ton, his last ton was against West Indies in 2019. Kohli could be seen mouthing “3 F*****G Years”
