IPL 2023: Twitter reacts to Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli’s light hearted moment

TATA Indian Premier League 2023 season reached its 50th game of the season. The game was between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium at New Delhi on Saturday. Bangalore were coming into game on the back of their win against Lucknow in the now infamous game. Delhi who have shown resurgence too needed a win to keep their faint hopes of top 4 alive. A win on Saturday would have gotten them off the bottom off the table.

The story as it happened –

Faf Du Plessis the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, won the toss and chose to bat first. Bangalore made one change as replacement player, Kedar Jadhav was drafted into the team. Delhi made two changes with Mukesh Kumar and Mitchell Marsh coming into the playing XI.

Kohli and Ishant Sharma engage in light banter –

For years, Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli have shared the same dressing room. Right from the under-19 to Delhi cricket days or much later the Indian cricket team. The two players are were good friends on and off the field.

The two Delhi players met on Saturday, and there was a funny moment which happened. Kohli after completing a run was seen saying something to Ishant. The veteran fast bowler was seen giving his fellow veteran Indian batter a slight push in jest.

Yet another good start by the RCB openers –

Orange cap holder Faf Du Plessis continued his good run of form with the bat. Kohli and Du Plessis put on 82 runs on the board in 10.3 overs. Du Plessis was the 1st wicket to fall when he fell to Mitchell Marsh for 45. The knock came off 32 balls with 5 fours and a six. The next ball Marsh was at it again when he got the wicket of Maxwell for a 1st ball duck.

Kohli and Lomror lift RCB to 181 –

Virat Kohli continued his good form with the bat as he scored yet another half century for the season. Kohli was out for 55 off 46 balls with 5 fours in his knock. The charge for the visitors was laid by Mahipal Lomror who scored his 1st IPL half century. The left hander scored 54 off 29 balls not out with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Bangalore reached 181 from their 20 overs.
