Recently retired Indian legend set to play to the Abu Dhabi T10 league according to reports

 

Indian cricket fans are in for some exciting times as they are getting to watch some of the top notch names play cricket. The Indian team is playing a short white ball home season against South Africa. The African team are playing 3 T20 matches and equal amount of ODI matches. The Indian fans are also witnessing some legendary names playing the Road Safety World Series and the Legends League of cricket.

The story as it happened –

Indian cricket in the recent few months has seen a spate of retirements, Suresh Raina had recently retired from all forms of cricket. This meant the left handed batter would not be playing the 2023 season of TATA IPL. Raina had said he wanted to play the overseas leagues and also be part of the Road Safety World Series India legend team.

Raina to play the Abu Dhabi T 10 ?

As per reports, Suresh Raina has been roped in to play the Abu Dhabi T10 league for the Deccan Gladiators. The Gladiators side has some huge names like Andre Russell, Jason Roy, Odeon Smith, West Indian captain Nicolas Pooran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.


Raina part of the Road Safety World series

Suresh Raina is currently playing for the Indian Legends against the Australian legends in the road safety world series 2022. Raina has been rumored to be play the Lanka Premier League. There were also hopes that he would play the newly launched SA20 league. Raina, though did not put his name up for the auction which was held a week ago.

Suresh Raina still wants to play 2-3 years of cricket –

The former Indian left handed batter retired from the game aged 33 the same day as his best friend and former India skipper MS Dhoni. Raina last played the IPL in 2021 when he was part of the CSK team which won the IPL. Chennai did not pick Raina during the TATA IPL 2022 auctions much to the shock of many. Raina had said “I wish to play cricket for around 2-3 years more. A lot of good players are there in UP domestic team now and doing very well. I have obtained NOC from the UPCA as well”
