India is a cricket crazy nation and there is no doubt about that, there are millions who play the game irrespective of age or gender and love to have a hit in every part of the land which they deem fit to become a square. There are many who aspire to go professional and play the game for the country but sadly do not make it. As they say the lure of opportunities can make a person set sails and five of these India born who are now playing for the USA national team.
Nisarg Patel –
Nisarg Patel was born in Ahmedabad and is a right handed batsman and left arm orthodox bowler. The 32 year old made his debut for USA in the year 2019 and has played Eight ODI games and scored 142 runs with one half century and also picked 7 wickets with best figures of 2 for 11.
Sunny Sohal –
The biggest name from India to play cricket for USA is 33 year old Sunny Sohal, the attacking right handed batsman has played a few games in the IPL when the league was in its infancy. He has also played Ranji Trophy cricket for Punjab where he has scored 1202 runs from the 21 games with 3 centuries and 7 half centuries. Sohal has played 3 T20 games for USA and scored just 23 runs with a career best of 18.
Saurabh Netravalkar –
Saurabh Netravalkar is a former Mumbai resident who has played one Ranji game and a few List a games for Mumbai before shifting base to USA. He is the current captain of USA and has played 13 ODI games and 8 T20 games for his adopted country. Netravalkar is a left arm medium bowler and a lower order right handed batsman.
Timil Patel –
Timil Patel is a former Gujarat cricketer who has played first class cricket with good amount of experience in Ranji Trophy and List a cricket. 37 year old Patel has played 7 ODI and 7 T20 games for USA since his debut in 2019. Timil Patel is a right handed batsman who can bowl leg spin.
Karan Viradiya –
26 year old Karan Viradiya is a former India under-19 prospect who has is about to make his international debut for USA cricket. Viradiya is a right handed batsman and a part time right arm off spin bowler. He was recently named in the USA squad for a series of international matches USA are slated to play.
