Tim Paine comments on Virat Kohli a day after his distasteful comments about India came to light

Tim Paine is a man under immense pressure as the Australian Captain is being put under the lens after yet another home series loss to India earlier this year. A full strength Australia couldn’t beat an under-strength and injury ravaged India when they lost the series 2-1 despite winning the first test match at Adelaide within two and half days as India were bundled out for 36. The final test match which was played at Brisbane is considered a fortress for Australia and the Ajinkya Rahane led side breached the fortress and beat Australia for the first time in over three decades at the Gabba.

Tim Paine Reacts To Social Media Backlash After India "Good At Creating Sideshows" Comment | Cricket News

Australian Captain Tim Paine was recently part of a podcast being hosted by former Australian legendary wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist and Tim Gossage called the “Gilly and Goss” Show. Speaking during the course of the show Paine remarked “For Virat Kohli, I’ve said many times, he seems the type of player you would love to have on your team. He is competitive, he is the best batsman in the world. He is challenging to play against and he can get under your skin because he is so good and he is so competitive. But yeah for me from where I came from, sharing a feud with him four years ago, He is certainly someone I will always remember” Virat Kohli is one of the only batsmen to have stood toe to toe with the fiery Australian bowlers and stared them back in the face and given it as good as he gets and he has also backed it up with the numb ers with the number of runs he has scored against the Kangaroos.

Paine’s distasteful comments about India –

Tim Paine was roundly called out for his conduct during the series against India, be it his rant and angry display of emotion against the umpires or his verbal slanging match with Ravichandran Ashwin with the “Come to Gabba mate “ jibe at the Indian all rounder or his abusive comments behind the stumps. Paine recently courted controversy after he said that India are good at distracting opposition and creating a side show like they did during the recent tour of Australia where they were reluctant to play the test match at Brisbane and the controversy raged on for a few days with the Indian team finally relenting and playing the final test match at Brisbane and winning it in the process creating history.
