
It’s been a miserable few days for the cricket fans after the Indian Premier League was suspended yesterday on Tuesday due to the rising cases of Coronavirus which has impacted a lot of teams. Monday saw the game between KKR and RCB get rescheduled due to Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier testing positive for COVID 19, there was a belief that the game between Mumbai and Hyderabad could go ahead but Tuesday morning fans got the news that Amit Mishra from Delhi Capitals and Wriddhiman Saha from Hyderabad had tested positive for the virus as well which led to the league being suspended.
BCCI mulling September window for IPL-
The indefinite suspension of the IPL means that the BCCI has to look at some other window to finish the league as the international and Indian players will get busy with the international cricket. according to a source in the know how of things was heard saying “A September window is being considered. By then the England-India series would be over and the foreign player would be ready for the T20 World Cup. That small window is being explored”
BCCI to consult other boards about player availability –
India next play New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship to be held between 18-22 June at Southampton, the men in blue also a play five match test series against England between August and September, while the other teams too will be getting busy with their international commitments. According to IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel who was asked on the subject matter of the resumption of the league Mr. Patel opined “Now we have to look for a window. If we get one, we will explore holding it. We’ll have to see if it is possible in September. We need to examine the plans of the ICC and other board”
