
England have been seeing a plethora of talent at their disposal over the last few years who have elevated their white ball game and made them the most exciting team in the world. The Eoin Morgan revolution post the 2015 world cup saw the likes of Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow and the captain himself become a household name who brought the crowds back to English cricket in the white ball format. One of the names that has been a huge figure in the revitalizing of England’s fortunes in the shorter format is Jos Buttler who is known for his 360 degree cricket.
Jos Buttler aims for a unique record –
Speaking to a well known cricket website the English superstar was asked about the one record he aims to break during the IPL 2021 season. Jos Buttler was quick to respond and said that he wants to break the record for most sixes hit in an IPL innings. The record holder is the Burly Jamaican master blaster Chris Gayle who hit 17 sixes during his knock of 175 for RCB against Pune Warriors India in 2013. Jos Buttler also named Moeen Ali as the player he would like to face during IPL 2021. Moeen Ali who is playing for CSK will be crossing paths with Jos Buttler later as CSK will face off against RR.
Jos Buttler’s IPL record –
30 year old Jos Buttler has played 59 games in the Indian Premier League; Buttler began his IPL career with Mumbai Indians and played for them for two years in 2016 and 2017. Although he missed the latter part of IPL 2017 his contribution was immense as Mumbai won their 3rd title in 2017 by a run against Rising Pune Supergiants. After being released in 2018 Rajasthan Royals were quick to snap up Buttler and he has now played four seasons for the team in pink. In all Buttler has played 59 games and scored 1739 runs with 11 half centuries with a strike rate of 150 which makes him one of the most destructive batsmen in the history of the league.
