Sam Billings who had played for Delhi for two seasons when they were known as Delhi Daredevils later moved on Chennai Super Kings and played under MS Dhoni. Billings had pulled out of IPL 2020 and entered himself into the auction pool. Billings initially went unsold but his name was requested again to be bought into the equation and Delhi Capitals acquired him for INR 2 Crore which was his base price.

Sam Billings took to twitter and wrote in jest “My girlfriend Sarah just turns to me and goes… why aren’t you a bowler? This was after he had gone unsold in the first round of bidding during the frantic IPL auctions 2021 yesterday at Chennai. All ended well though for Sam Billings as the 29 year old Kent cricketer was picked by Delhi Capitals.

Once Sam Billings put out the tweet about his Girlfriend why the cricketer wasn’t a bowler, his English team mate replied with a tweet with a video of Sam Billings bowling a loopy full toss to a batsman who hit it for a four. Jofra Archer captioned the video in response to Billings tweet and replied “Here’s why” and attached the video.
ICC joins in the banter
International Cricket Council which has been lethal with its trolling on twitter lately joined in the banter session and wrote on twitter “The only way is up” and put out the bowling stats of Sam Billings. The 29 year old Englishman replied in a witty way and said “leg spin incoming”
