Breaking News! Star Player leaves Rajasthan Royals camp

TATA IPL is seeing the race for the top 4 places get interesting with Lucknow Super Giants now surpassing Gujarat Titans at the top. Rajasthan Royals have also more or less secured their place in the top 4 with a win over PBKS. This leaves the race for the final spot between DC, RCB and SRH with PBKS having a outside chance. Both CSK and Mumbai are out of the tournament, with CSK needing a miracle and lots of big wins to realistically make it to the top 4.

Story as it happened –

Rajasthan Royals batsman Shimron Hetmyer has left the RR camp as he flies back home to welcome the birth of his first child. The Rajasthan Royals official twitter handle posted the tweet and said “Shimron Hetmyer has travelled back to Guyana early morning today for the imminent birth of his first child. We are helping him in every way we can, and our best wishes are with him and his wife Nirvani. We look forward to Shimron then returning to Mumbai, and resuming duties at the Royals for the remainder of our matches in IPL 2022. All the best, Hettie. We can’t wait to have you back, this time as a father”

Shimron Hetmyer has been a huge asset for RR and yesterday he proved it in the game against PBKS. The left hander scored 16 ball 31 to win the game for RR while chasing 190 on the board. The win gives RR the chance to now fight for the top 2 places after Gujarat Titans have slipped up with 2 back to back losses. LSG lead the table with 16 points from 11 games, same as Gujarat Titans. RR are in 3rd with 14 points from 11 games, RCB are 4th with 12 points from 11 games as they face off against SRH on 8th May. The 5th place is occupied by Delhi who have played 10 games and have 10 points, SRH follow at 6th with 10 points from 10 games, while PBKS have 10 points from 11 games are at 7th. After their 75 run loss to LSG, KKR are all but out of the reckoning.
