The story as it happened –

Chetan Sakariya was the break-out player from the last season of the Indian Premier League. The 24 year last year was picked by Rajasthan Royals and he has been likened to Mustafizur Rahman. Sakariya who is known for his deceptive pace and ability to fox the batters with his slower ball was released by RR at the of last year’s IPL season.

Chetan Sakariya’s painful tweet –

After his exit from RR, the 24 year old left arm pacer went to Delhi Capitals after he was picked up during the IPL auctions. Sakariya is yet to feature in a game for the Capitals and the Saurashtra bowler made his feelings known on twitter. The youngster put up an excerpt from James Anderson’s book which read This was not a fit of pique. Painful experience has taught me there is nothing worse than bowl-ing in the nets, without a game visible on the horizon, and I just wanted to get back into some competitive action. With the Ashes coming up six months down the line, I simply wanted to keep bowling and remain in good nick”. Sakariya captaioned the picture and wrote “Focussed be patient”

Sakariya’s career so far –

Chetan Sakariya was one of the biggest stories from IPL last year. The then 23 year old came from a poor family and had to go through a lot to make it this far. Sakariya was picked by RR and he went on to play 14 games and picked 14 wickets. Sakariya was also given an India call up during the tour of Sri Lanka led by Shikhar Dhawan. Sakariya played one ODI picking up a solitary wicket, he also played 2 T20 games picking just one wicket. His last game in the IPL came against KKR, where gave away 23 runs from 4 overs and picked the wicket of Rahul Tripathi.

Chetan Sakariya would hope his wait comes to and end today as Delhi Face off against his former side Rajasthan Royals.
