Indian cricketer quits whatsapp group after omission from squad

It is the final day of the season after two month long TATA IPL 2022 season. The match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans is expected to witness some huge fireworks. The match will be witnessed by some of the biggest names like Honorable Indian PM, Mr. Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah. Ranveer Singh and AR Rahman are expected to perform during the closing ceremony of the marquee clash. While all this happening, there is trouble in the ranks closer home as India gets ready for a huge calendar of International Cricket.

Indian player quits team WhatsApp group –

Wriddhiman Saha has been in good form for the Gujarat Titans after he came in place of Matthew Wade. The veteran Indian wicket keeper has played a crucial role in the run to the finals for Gujarat Titans. Saha who turns 38 later this year has been axed from the Indian team earlier this year. He also had a huge run in with his Bengal Ranji Team and has left the team’s WhatsApp group. Avishek Dalmiya had claimed that “ The Cricket Association of Bengal wanted Wriddhiman Saha to play for Bengal at this crucial juncture especially when Bengal would be fighting in the Knockout stage in a bid to win the Ranji Trophy after becoming the top-ranked team in the country at the end of the Group Stage”

CAB Blames Saha for his pull out –

Earlier this year before the test series against Sri Lanka, Saha made explosive comments about Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. He claimed that the duo wanted to axe him and end his career rather than let him retire on his own will. The wicket keeper then had a well known saga with Boria Majumdar after Saha showed chats of him being threatened. Majumdar was banned by BCCI for two years and barred him from any interaction with the players. The CAB though has blamed Saha for all the drama and said “Tell me, why should Wriddhi [Saha] not play in the Ranji Trophy for Bengal?. He is not in the Indian team, why should he not play for Bengal? Then we have to assume that he feels no responsibility towards Bengal. In the past, too, there have been many occasions when he has refused to play for Bengal. When we have spoken to him, he has given all sorts of excuses and skipped games. Sometimes it’s body ache, sometimes he has a pain in his leg. What to do? If he is that stubborn, we have to give him. But nobody should try to arm-twist the state association, as it is bigger than any individual”

Saha’s wife had said the veteran cricketer was hurt by the way he was treated recently. The veteran cricketer is set to play in the final of TATA IPL 2022 for Gujarat, after having scored over 300 runs in the season. Saha hasn’t found a place for himself in the Indian team for the only test during the tour of England which is coming up.
