Wankhede Stadium on Friday witnessed yet another batting masterclass from Rajasthan Royals. The men in pink saw their opener Jos Buttler score his 3rd century of the season dominate the Delhi Capitals bowlers. Delhi who started the day in 6th place were looking to win the game and make a move up the table. Rishabh Pant had a good start when he won the toss and chose to bowl first. Both the teams were unchanged from the last game they played and what followed was absolute carnage.
Khaleel drops a sitter in his last over –
The said incident happened in the final over of the 18th innings with Khaleel Ahmed bowling. The left arm seamer bowled one short to Sanju Samson and the RR captain did not get the timing right. The ball took and edge and it was a simple catch that is almost like everyday practice. Much to every Delhi player and fan’s disbelief Khaleel Ahmed dropped the easiest of chances. Rishabh Pant was seen to be aghast and the cameras caught Ahmed sitting in the dugout with hands holding his face. This led to fans asking whether he was sent off the field by Pant.

Jos Buttler pulverizes Delhi bowlers –
Put into bat, RR opened with Devdutt Padikkal and Buttler, and the duo started to make Pant realize the mistake he had committed. The left and right hand pair added 155 for the opening wicket. Both the players began in a circumspect manner but started to go after bowlers once they had their eye in. Padikkal was playing against RR at the same venue where he had scored a magnificent IPL 100 last year for RCB. The first wicket fell at 155 when Padikkal was trapped LBW by Khaleel Ahmed. The left hander scored 54 off 35 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Buttler though kept going strong. He scored his 3rd ton of the season and 4th overall and fell for 116 off 65 balls. Buttler hit 9 fours and 9 massive sixes in his amazing knock. Samson remained not out on 46 off 19 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes to help RR reach an imposing 222 on the board.
