Twitter slams Ravichandran Ashwin for his runout of Jimmy Neesham

TATA IPL 2022 is now reaching the end of its league phase games and there 4 teams in battle for a place in the top 4. Gujarat Titans are sure to qualify in the top two of the table after their resounding win over CSK earlier on Sunday. The 63rd game of the season saw Rajasthan Royals take on Lucknow Supergiants at the Brabourne Stadium. A win for LSG would see them seal a spot in the play-offs, while a win for RR would see them go to the 2nd place.

Ravichandran Ashwin runs out Jimmy Neesham –

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bat first, after the last few games have seen the team batting first win at Brabourne stadium. The moment of the game came with the score reading 152 for 5. It was Ashwin and Jimmy Neesham batting together and it happened in the 17th over. Ashwin tried to steal signal after hitting the ball to the cover fielder. Neesham also responded to the call, but Ashwin suffered a brain-fade and froze. The bowler took of the bails and when the umpires went up to see which batsman was dismissed. It was seen that Neesham did not cross Ashwin and the Kiwi had to go back to the hut after scoring 14 off 12 balls.


Jaiswal, Samson and Padikkal help RR reach 178-

Jos Buttler who had a great season with the bat so far, has seen a dip in his form. The Englishman was out for 2 when he went for a scoop and saw his off-stump rattled by Avesh Khan. Sanju Samson and Jaiswal added 64 for the 2nd wicket as the RR captain was playing some amazing shots. Samson was out for 32 off 24 balls with 6 fours before falling to Jason Holder. Devdutt Padikkal came out swinging and scored 39 off 18 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Jaiswal scored 41 off 29 balls with 6 fours and a six. Riyan Parag (19), Neesham (14), Ashwin (10*) and Boult (17*) scored important runs to help RR reach 178.
