TATA IPL 2022 has been a weird one for many players and teams as they have really struggled this year. MSD’s Chennai or Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma have not been able to go far in the tournament. One of the biggest disappointment was that of Virat Kohli and his form. On Thursday the former Indian captain roared back into form with 73 crucial runs against Gujarat Titans. His knock helped RCB win the game and move into the 4th place in the table, while knocking out Punjab and Hyderabad.
Kohli’s smashing return to form –
The eyes of the world was on one man and he did gave the most dazzling of performances. Chasing 169 to win, Kohli was in his elements, as he cut, drove, smashed every bowler to different parts of the ground. Kohli was in his elements with his trademark flourish and aggression with the bat. Kohli was named man of the match, and he said “I can keep going, there are no issues at all. It was an important game,I was disappointed that I have not done enough for the team. Today (Thursday) was a game where I was able to create an impact for the team.. this puts us in a good position. You need to keep the perspective right. You can forget the process in order to live up to the expectations. I have worked really hard. I batted 90 minutes in the nets yesterday (Wednesday). I came in very free and relaxed”
Kohli names the time he knew he was back in form –
During the entire knock yesterday, Kohli looked assured in his footwork and did not look confused one bit. His early slashes were gone, he played close to his body and moreover his footwork looked amazing. Speaking about this Kohli said “With the very first shot of Shami, I felt I could hit lengths balls over the fielder’s head. I knew that tonight was the night when I could kick on. It has been wonderful that I have got so much support in this edition. I am forever grateful to all the love that I have never seen before”
