Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals came out to play each other in the game on Friday at the Wankhede Stadium. The match was one humdinger of a contest as the Rajasthan Royals won the game by the barest of margins. The game which was poised well till the final 3 balls of the game saw a huge controversy erupt which saw some unpleasant scenes being witnessed .
Rovman Powell goes after Obed McCoy –
Delhi Capitals needed 36 to win from the last over and Rovman Powell was the crease alongside Kuldeep Yadav. The first ball went for a huge six to make it 30 off 5 as Powell struck a 101 meter six. The next ball went over the cover boundary for a huge six to make it 24 off 4. The 3rd ball saw yet another six from the blade of Powell to make it 18 off 3. This is when the entire controversy when the McCoy was deemed above the waist and the entire Delhi Capitals dugout was aghast the ball wasn’t given a no-ball. In the middle off the entire melee, Rishabh Pant was seen calling the batters back to the dugout. Even Pravin Amre came on to the ground and had a word with the umpire. Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were involved in a huge chat as Jos Buttler made his way to Pant to give his point of view.

Anti-climatic finish to the game –
It seems that the no-ball not being given knocked the sails out of the Delhi batters as Rovman Powell lost his cool. He missed the 4th ball to confirm the win for Rajasthan, Powell looked crestfallen as he slogged the 5th ball before finally falling off the last ball. Rajasthan Royals won the game by 15 runs. This win gave Royals the chance to go top of the table on a day when Jos Buttler scored his 3rd century of the season to give RR a huge total on the board.
Hopefully Delhi can put this behind and come back stronger, but what happened on the field during the final few minutes of the game was something that Pant will look back and hope to not replicate in the future.
