The El-classico of cricket lived up to its billing as the Men in yellow and defneding champs won a close game. With that loss Mumbai indians are out of the tournament with the 7th loss in a row. It was a day to remember for the loud Chennai fans as they saw their team win their 2nd game of the season in the most dramatic of circumstances. The day certainly belonged to MS Dhoni as he showed his finishing skills to sheperd a tense chase against the Mumbai Indians.
The master of finishes MSD –
MS Dhoni at the non striker end as Pretorious against Jaydev Unadkat in the final over with 17 needed for a win from 6 balls. The first ball of the over saw the South African fall LBW to Unadkat. The umpire did not give it out but Mumbai went up for the DRS and the decision was upturned. This got Bravo to the crease and he took a single to make it 16 off 4 balls. The very next ball MSD struck a massive 85 meter six to make it 10 off 3. The 4th ball was bouncer which Dhoni hooked it for 4, this got the equation to 6 off 2. The penultimate ball saw Dhoni scamper back for 2 runs with the equation now 4 off 1 ball. Unadkat tried to bowl a yorker but couldn’t execute it and the ball sped past the fine leg for a four.
What a finisher !!

Close loss witnesses Mumbai get dumped out of the tournament –
Needing a win to stay alive in the tournament, Mumbai Indians lost both their openers in the 1st over to ducks. Young Dewald Brevis too was out soon, but Tilak Varma scored a valueable half century with decent contributions from the other batters. Chasing 156 to win, just like Mumbai CSK lost their opener Gaikwad for a duck. Mitchell santner sent up at number 3 too fell without troubling the scorers much. It was a 50 run stand between Uthappa and Rayudu which got them back into the equation. But Mumbai bowlers kept chipping in with the wickets to make sure the men in blue and gold were in with a shout. CSK though took home the game of the last ball thanks to MSD who stayed not out on 28 off 13 balls.
