It is the season of T20 and slam bang cricket which is taking the world by storm. As we stand at the end of yet another exciting season of TATA IPL, the T20 blast has already begun. Some of the big names are taking part in the tournament which is likely to run till the end of August. One of the names taking part in the tournament is Ireland’s opening batsman Paul Stirling who is playing for Birmingham Bears, and in the very first game he did some thing exceptional.

Paul Stirling who is playing for Birmingham Bears was up against Northamptonshire. Batting first Birmingham scored a mammoth 207 for 3 on the board. Stirling was not out 119 off 51 balls with 9 fours and 10 massive sixes. The moment of the game was in the 13th over when Stirling was facing James Sales. The first five balls went for massive sixes. Stirling tried to hit the last ball for a six as well but the ball just went for a 4, to make it 34 runs off the over. Northampton were bowled out for 81 with Chris Lynn scoring 16 runs with the bat.

Stirlung under the spotlight for IPL?
Some of the big name Ireland players haven’t played the IPL so far, Paul Stirling as already put his name in the hat for the auction next year. Stirling has played 136 ODI games for Ireland and scored 5047 runs with 12 centuries and 26 fifties. He has an average of 38 and a strike rate of 86. He also has played 102 T20 games for Ireland and scored 2776 runs with a century and 20 fifties and has a strike rate of 134. In all T20 games he has played 278 games and scored 7100 runs with 3 centuries and 47 half centuries and a career strike rate of 142.
