It is a huge day for TATA IPL 2022, as Rajasthan Royals take on Gujarat Titans in the first play off game of the season. There is a lot at stake for the two teams, as the winners of the match will directly qualify for the final this Sunday. The iconic Eden Gardens, saw clear skies and a good day for cricket after the city had been ravaged by rains and storm which had put the start of the game under doubt. Gujarat won the toss and chose to bowl first, with Alzarri Joesph coming in for Lockie Ferguson. RR played the same team that had played the last league phase match.

Riyan Parag and Ravi Ashwin’s angry mid pitch argument –

There is never a dull moment when Ravi Ashwin and Riyan Parag are playing. The two are known to wear their hearts on their sleeve and prone to anger bouts. Tuesday, saw the two having a heated argument in the middle of the pitch. The incident happened after Yash Dayal, bowling the last over bowled a no-ball, which saw Buttler run out. The next ball was a free hit faced by Ashwin, and Dayal went onto bowl a wide ball. Ashwin left the ball alone only to find Parag run down for a single. The veteran bowler did not move and Parag was run out at the bowlers end. Ashwin was seen gesticulating at the young man and Parag wasn’t happy one bit.


Buttler’s 89 helps RR reach 188 –

Batting first RR were rocked early when Jaiswal was out for 3 with the score reading 11. Jaiswal walked on his own accord despite the umpire giving him not out. In walked Samson and he smacked an imperious 46 off 27 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Buttler who had lost his form, found his touch to score 89 off 59 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes to go past 700 runs this season. Padikkal scored 28 off 20 balls before chopping one back on to his stumps off Hardik Pandya. RR reached a competitive 188 on the board which is sure to test the GT batting order.
