We are a few weeks away from the start of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League with every team and every player getting ready for the title assault ahead in what could be the last season for every team to walk in with their current crop as the BCCI has announced a mega auction ahead of IPL 2022 with 2 new teams about to enter the fray. The teams are into their final few weeks of practice but the IPL could be dealt a huge blow with one big-name international player set to give the tournament a miss this season.
Huge likely to pull out of IPL 2021-
If the reports are to be believed England fast bowler Jofra Archer could hand Rajasthan Royals a huge blow ahead of the season as he is set to pull out and try to get himself fit for the long and busy summer schedule for English cricket. The likelihood of Archer missing the IPL came from Wisden Cricket which tweeted “According to the Telegraph, Jofra Archer is likely to pull out of this year’s IPL in an attempt to get himself fit for England action. The report states that he will have a third injection on a troublesome right elbow. He was the IPL’s Player of the Tournament in 2020”
Jofra Archer a huge player for RR-
Jofra Archer was one of the only few bright spots for Rajasthan Royals last year when they finished at the bottom of the table. The 26-year-old right arm fast bowler picked 20 wickets and was genuinely bowling quickly throughout the tournament. Archer has played 35 games for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and picked 46 wickets at an economy of 7.1 runs per over and his loss could have ramifications on RR’s title hopes this year.
