Australian Cricket! Preview for the 1st test between Australia and West Indies

s

Australian test cricket returns with the 1st test of two to be played at the Perth Stadium starting on Wednesday morning. A series win for the Australians will more or less secure their place in the finals of the World Test Championship to be played in June 2023.

The West Indians come into the game on the back of a disappointing 2022 ICC T20 World Cup. The Caribbeans have been poor travellers over the last 3 decades to Australia. The series will obviously pitch them as underdogs but the fans across the world will like to see the talent that is coming out of the West Indian shores.

Venue – Perth Stadium, Perth

Time of the game – 8 AM IST

Likely pitch conditions – Fox Cricket put out a picture of the pitch which has a tinge of green on it. If the pitch remains the same, the team winning the toss will want to bowl first and get the early upper hand in the game. Expect the conditions to get better for batting from the 2nd day with the pitch opening up from day 4. Nathan Lyon could come into equation with the ball during the final few days of the test match.

Confirmed Australia XI –

Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon

Likely West Indies XI –

Kraigg Brathwaite, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Shamarah Brooks, Roston Chase, Jermaine Blackwood, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva, Alzarri Joseph, Kemar Roach, Anderson Phillip and Jayden Seales.
