TATA IPL auctions 2023 were an exciting affair which was held on December 23. The trio of , Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Cameron Green all fetched huge money during the short and crisp TATA IPL auctions. All three players were expected to be picked but what happened on the day of the auctions blew the minds of the fans.
Cameron Green first started to get spoken about when he made an amazing impression during the short T20 tour of India. The Western Australia youngster was aggressive with the bat while playing as an opener and also bowled well with the ball. Green, generated good pace with the new ball and also bowled the slower balls well towards the back-end

Mumbai Indians came into the auctions with a purse of INR 20.55 crore. The five time champs decided to spend 17.5 crores on Cameron Green after an intense round of bidding which also involved Delhi Capitals. This was an important acquisition for Mumbai Indians after the retirement of Kieron Pollard after he was released by Mumbai.

Cameron Green is currently playing for Australia in the second test match versus South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Before the start of the game, Green said "
I didn't do much to earn that much in the IPL auction and that doesn't change who I am". Cameron picked his first ever 5 wicket haul for Australia in test cricket with figures of 5/27 on the first day of the test match
