Hardik Pandya is currently a happy camper on and off the field. The 28 year old is seeing heights, after a string of lows on and off the field. Pandya was recently the captain of the Indian side which had toured Ireland for short 2 match T20 series. Hardik has been impressive with the bat and ball in the shortest format of the game. Pandya led the side for the first time and got them a series win with a 2-0 margin. Pandya also led Gujarat Titans to a famous IPL title win in their first ever season this year.

The story as it happened –

Hardik Pandya may be finding his feet in the shorter formats again, but the fans have been missing the 28 year old in the longest format. Pandya last played a test match in 2018, during the tour of England. He was last part of the squad during the 2021 home test series against the visiting English side. Pandya bowled a memorable spell against England, during the Nottingham test in 2018 picking 5 wickets with the ball. constant injuries have forced him to play only the white ball formats since.

Harbhajan Singh has his say on Pandya’s test future –

Indian team looks settled, specially with Shardul Thakur coming to the fore with the bat and ball. former India spin legend, Harbhajan Singh though feels Hardik Pandya should be part of the Indian test team as well. Speaking to Sportskeeda, the soon to be 42 year old spinner said I feel India should have included Hardik Pandya. It’s only one match and seamers are expected to do well in England. Yes, Shardul Thakur has done a good job but if Hardik Pandya is there in the team, it would be really good. The batting then gets a big boost and the bowling department also gets some cover”

Harbhajan Singh has his say on the outcome of the final test against England –

The 5th match was supposed to take place in Manchester post the Oval test last year. The match was cancelled on the morning of the game, after Indian players tested positive for COVID. The game will now be played in Birmingham instead starting Friday, 1st July. Speaking about the game to Sportskeeda, Bhajji said “It’s a big game without doubt. England have a new team led by Ben Stokes But, they have a lot to prove. On the other hand, India have a great chance to win a series in England after many years. India have the talent to win this match. It will be a big series win, if they achieve it”
