Indian Cricket! Ranji Round up of the 6th round of games and Plate Semi finals

It was the start to yet another week of Ranji Trophy matches as the Elite League group games and the plate divisions saw their games get underway on Tuesday.

Plate league games –

1st Semi Final- Bihar vs Meghalaya – Shillong

Bihar scored at rate of knots as they scored 329/6 from the 78 overs that was possible on the 1st day. Bipin Saurabh top scored with 177 off 183 balls with 12 fours and 11 sixes. Arbin Singh picked 3 wickets

2nd Semi Finals – Sikkim vs Manipur – Surat

Nilesh Lamichaney with 83 and Sumit Singh with 56 helped Sikkim reach 229 on the board. P. Jotim and Kishan Singha picked 4 wickets each for the Manipur team. In reply, Manipur lost 1 wicket with Ronald Longjam falling for 10.

Manipur trails Sikkim by 183 runs with 9 wickets left

Arunachal Pradesh vs Mizoram – Ahmedabad -5th place game for Plate League

Mizoram bowled out Arunachal for mere 199 on the board with Techi Doria and A. Sahani top scoring with 31. Mizoram had to play out 1 over before the stumps were called.

Elite League Group A Games –

Baroda vs Uttarakhand – Dehradun

14 wickets fell on the 1st Day as both the team’s batters failed to have their say in the game. Batting first, Baroda were all out for 86 as Agrim Tiwari picked 5/40 with the ball. In reply, Uttarakhand ended the day at 74/4 with Aditya Tare on 26 and Swapnil Singh on 17.

UTK trails BAR by 12 runs with 4 wickets left

Bengal vs Haryana – Rohtak

Anustup Majumdar’s 137 not out off 193 balls with 14 fours helped Bengal reach 335/6 from 90 overs. Abhimanyu Eeswaran scored 57, while Abhishek Porel scored 49, as Harshal Patel picked 3 wickets.

Himachal Pradesh vs Nagaland – Nadaun

Ankit Kalsi scored his 2nd successive century as he ended the day at 116 not out off 260 balls with 16 fours. Nikhil Gangta with 41 and Rishi Dhawan with 40 were the other top scorers for Himachal Pradesh. When stumps were drawn at the end of the day, HP were 285/6.

UP vs Odisha – Meerut

Santanu Mishra kept this run scoring form going as he scored 107 not out off 218 balls with 14 fours. Rajesh Dhuper scored 62 off 165 balls while Abhishek Raut the captain was not out on 43. Odisha ended the day at 222/5 as Kunal Yadav and Kartikeya Jaiswal picked 2 wickets each.


Elite League Group B Matches –

Andhra vs Saurashtra – Rajkot

Visiting side, Andhra ended the day at 256/5 from the 90 overs bowled. The top scorer for Andhra was Ricky Bhui with 80 off 155 balls with 8 fours and a six. At stumps, Ashwin Hebbar was on 22 with Lalith Mohan on 2.

Tamil Nadu vs Assam – Chennai

Assam were in for yet another long day in the field as Tamil Nadu scored a massive 386/4 at the end of day 1. N. Jagadeesan scored 125 off 152 balls with 14 fours, while Pradosh Paul on 99 and Vijay Shankar on 53 took the home team ahead. Baba Indrajith scored 77 off 133 balls with 8 fours.

Delhi vs Mumbai – Delhi

Mumbai were all out for 293 from the 79 overs that were bowled on day 1 before the stumps were drawn. Sarfaraz Khan scored yet another century when he scored 125 off 155 balls with 16 fours and 4 sixes. Prithvi Shaw (40) and Shams Mulani with 39 were the other top scorers. P. Vijaryran picked 4/66 with the ball for the hosts.

Maharashtra vs Hyderabad – Pune

Naushad Shaikh stole the show as he ended the day at 145 not out off 219 balls with 20 fours. Kedar Jadhav scored 71 off 92 balls with 9 fours and a six helped Maharashtra reach 353/5 from the 85 overs bowled on day 1. Ashay Palkar was not out on 61 batting along with Naushad Shaikh.

Elite League Group C Matches –

Puducherry vs Jharkhand – Puducherry

68 each by Paras Dogra and Arun Karthik helped the home team reach 217/7 at the end of the day. Ashish Kumar with 3 wickets and Anukul Roy picked 2 wickets for the visitors.

Rajasthan vs Chhattisgarh – Jodhpur

Samarpit Joshi was the star of the show for Rajasthan with 123 off 181 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Mahipal Lomror (47), Sahil Dhawan (41) and Manav Suthar with 45 not out helped the home team 330/8 at stumps.

Goa vs Services – Delhi

Pulkit Narang top scored with 52 off 91 balls as Services were all out for 175, Vijesh Prabhudesai with 3 wickets and Arjun Tendulkar with 2 wickets did the damage with the ball. Ishan Gadekar was the only wicket to fall for Goa for 1.

Goa trails SER by 139 runs with 9 wickets left

Karnataka vs Kerala – T’ Puram

Sachin Baby continued his amazing form with yet another ton as he scored 116 not out off 272 balls with 12 fours and a six. At one stage, Kerala were 6/3 before Baby and Govind added 120 for the 4th wicket. Govind was out for 46, Jalaj Saxena with 31 was keeping Sachin Baby company at stumps.

Elite League Group D matches

Vidarbha vs Gujarat – Nagpur

Jamta stadium saw 15 wickets fall as the home team were all out at Lunch. 5 wickets by Chintan Gaja and Tejas Patel had the home team all out for 74. Sanjay Raghunath top scored with 33. In reply, Gujarat scored 188 with Aarya Desai scoring 88 and Bhargav Merai scored 40.

GUJ leads VID by 114 runs with 5 wickets

Tripura vs Jammu and Kashmir – Jammu

Only 24 overs were bowled as Jammu and Kashmir scored 52/0 with opener Abhinav Puri and Shubham Khajuria batting.

Railways vs Chandigarh – Chandigarh

Upendra Yadav (113) and Vivek Singh (108) helped Railways score 327/8. Yadav scored his 113 off 138 balls with 12 fours and a six, while Singh scored 108 off 215 balls with 12 fours and a six. Sandeep Sharma picked 5/87 from his 22 overs.

Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh – Mohali

Madhya Pradesh were frustrated as Punjab ended the day at 302/5. Anmolpreet Singh scored 124 off 207 balls with 12 fours, as Nehal Wadhera was not out on 123 off 243 balls with 9 fours and a six. Avesh Khan and Gaurav Yadav picked 2 wickets each.
