Indian fans roast Barmy Army for their tasteless tweet on Virat Kohli

Indian cricket fans are the most passionate in the world, and their love and devotion for their players is 2nd to none. Over the years we have seen the kind of respect and love the fans have had for cricketers the ilk of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and many more. In the current batch the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli get a lot of love from the fans and one wrong thing said about these players can set the social media world on fire.

Barmy Army post a tasteless about Virat Kohli –

Wednesday’s game in the IPL saw RCB lock horns with arch-rivals CSK with huge points at stake for both the teams. RCB came away as the winners of the contest and move closer to a possible chance to reach the final 4. The result meant that CSK stay in 9th and are all but out of the tournament. The moment of the game came when Moeen Ali breached the defence of Kohli to dismiss him for the 11th time in his career. This prompted the English cricket supporters club or simply put the Barmy Army to put up a tweet which showed Moeen Ali bowling and a small picture of Kohli with an arrow marked and say “Back Pocket”. Which means that Moeen Ali has had the upper hand in the duel.

Indian fans hit back –

The tweet from Barmy Army caught the attention of the Indian fans as they were quick to take to the social media to lambast the English fans. None of the Indian fans saw the funny side to it and took it as an insult towards the former Indian captain. Many of the fans showed their anger and disgust at the insult towards Kohli with some hard hitting replies to the Barmy Army. Virat Kohli isn’t the one to forget insults and he surely wouldn’t forget this taunt. While Moeen Ali might have given up test cricket India and Virat Kohli are sure to face him during the shorter formats of the game. It will be an interesting spectacle when Moeen Ali and Virat Kohli come face to face during the battle in England in a few months time.
