Jimmy Neesham strikes again with a reply to a rude fan on Twitter

H

Jimmy Neesham is known to be swashbuckling with the bat and ball in hand. The New Zealand all rounder is known for his big hitting towards the back end of the innings. With the ball as well he is known to be steady as he can pick wickets at regular intervals. Jimmy Neesham might be a regular for the black caps in the international stage, but in the Indian Premier League, he has found playing time tough to come by.

The story as it happened –

Jimmy Neesham was part of the Rajasthan Royals this year, as they reached the final of the TATA IPL 2022 season. Neesham so far has played just 4 seasons of the Indian Premier League. He made his debut in 2014, before making a return each in 2020, 2021 and 2022. In the span of these four years, Neesham has played just 14 games in total.

Neesham facts checks a fan on Twitter –

In the world of social media, trolling is a fair game. Jimmy Neesham is more than welcome to dish out a reply as good as he gets. A fan recently asked him “why don’t you perform in IPL like you perform in international matches”. Not one to let such a long hop leave, the 32 year old Kiwi replied “I probably wouldn’t perform well in international cricket if I played one game a year”. The reply from Neesham was to the point and also spoke about the lack of game time he gets during the league.

Kiwi all rounder has th

e last word –

if the fan thought, the Kiwi international was done with him, he was wrongly mistaken. Neesham further wrote “also … everyone trying to act like this tweet is bodying someone or trolling someone. Literally in the elite sports knows continuity of role is important. It’s just sometimes the situation doesn’t allow it and players just have to try to make do. Its nobody’s fault”.

Neesham’s message sets the record straight –

The first reply to the fan might have come across as Neesham having a go at the IPL teams he has played for. Neesham though clarified in his team as you can read above, players warming the benches during the IPL is the nature of the beast. He doesn’t really have any malice or hard feelings towards any of the teams he has played for.

Neesham has played a total of 14 games in the IPL and scored mere 92 runs with a strike rate of 98 and has picked 8 wickets with the ball with an economy of 9.2 runs per over.
