KL Rahul undergoes successful surgery and posts a tweet to given an update to his fans

Indian cricket is about to enter a period where they are going to play back to back International cricket. The tour of England, is upon us as India face off against the home side in the rescheduled 5th test starting on Friday. BCCI also announced the team for the 3 match T20 and ODI series against the three lions. One man though is missing and that happens to be vice captain KL Rahul. The 30 year old is set to miss a considerable time of cricket.

The story as it happened –

KL Rahul was in amazing form with the bat during the 2022 season of TATA IPL scoring 616 runs with the bat and 2 centuries. The 30 year old was supposed to lead the Indian team for the 5 match T20 series against South Africa. Just 24 hours before the 1st game at Delhi, news came in that Rahul was injured. The opener had injured his groin and recently underwent surgery.

Once news came to the light of Rahul’s injury, it was learnt he flew to Germany to get himself operated upon. Rahul has now come out and put out a tweet to his fans which reads “It’s been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I’m healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your messages and prayers. See you soon”


BCCI sources expect Rahul to miss a few months of crocket –

KL Rahul as per the sources in the corridors of BCCI is expected to miss at least 2 months of cricket. This could mean that Rahul will be back for the T20 world cup which takes in place in October held by Australia. As far as the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 is concerned, BCCI are tight lipped on Rahul’s status. The source in the know how said “He will be resting for a few days and then his physical rehabilitation will start at the NCA. That will take a few weeks before he starts with his regular net session and let’s see if he can make a comeback in the Asia Cup. But that could be a touch and go”
