England are on the verge of an historic whitewash during their tour of Pakistan. The English team are touring Pakistan after 17 years and have been tasked with a target of 167 to win the 3rd test.

It has been a miserable home season for Pakistan as they now lost two series at home this year. The first was one to Australia earlier this year in a 3 match series by a 1-0 margin to the Pat Cummins led side. Australia were touring Pakistan  after 24 years and achieved the win.

The story so far –

Mohammad Rizwan not long ago was the toast of the nation for his dare devil batting in the white ball formats. In the test format though he hasn’t been able to have the same impact with the bat.

Continued run of bad form –

Mohammad Rizwan last scored a century against Australia earlier this year at Karachi. The game saw Babar Azam scored 196 while chasing 500 runs with Rizwan scoring 110. Since that innings, Rizwan has cored 262 runs from the 12 innings with a best of 46, which was during the 1st test vs England at Rawalpindi.

Fans want Sarfaraz Ahmed back –

Rizwan’s continued bad patch of form with the bat has seen the fans ask the PCB to get one old face back. The fans are now clamoring for the return of former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed back to the test team.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s test numbers –

35 year old Sarfaraz Ahmed has played 49 tests for Pakistan and scored 2657 runs. He has hit 3 centuries and 18 half centuries with a best of 112. Ahmed has an average of 36 and has accounted for 146 catches and 21 stumpings.

His last test was in early 2019 against South Africa at Johannesburg where he was the captain. Ahmed scored a 40 ball half century and was out 1st ball in the same game as Pakistan lost by an innings and 107 runs.
