Indian cricket team management has come under heavy fire for their treatment of Sanju Samson. The team management yet again decided to drop Sanju Samson for the final ODI on Wednesday which was played at Hagley Oval at Christchurch.
The team persisted with Deepak Hooda ahead of Sanju Samson for the perceived depth he gives with the ball. This angered the Indian fans to no end as did was done despite the bad run of form that Rishabh Pant has seen himself with the bat.
Shashi Tharoor slams BCCI –
Former Union Minister from the UPA, Shashi Tharoor took a dig at the stand-in coach VVS Laxman for his backing of Rishabh Pant. Taking to Twitter, the former minister Tharoor wrote “Pant has done well at number 4, so it is important to back him’ says @vvslaxman281. He’s a good player out of form who’s failed in ten of his last 11 innings; Samson averages 66 in ODIs; has made runs in all his 5 matches and is on the bench; go figure @IamSanjuSamson”
Pant fails to score yet again –
Rishabh Pant has been in dismal form with the bat in since his unbeaten 125 against England at Old Trafford. The 25 year old wicket keeper batter has been struggling for form. This began with his struggles in the T20 format for India where he lost his place to Dinesh Karthik.
Pant did not play the first 4 games of the ICC T20 world cup for India and played the game against Zimbabwe and keeping his place for the Semis against England. In the 2 T20 games he played during the tour of NZ, Pant scored 6 and 11, while scoring 15 and 10 in the 2 ODI games so far. Samson on the other hand made 36 runs in the sole ODI game during the match on Friday at Eden Park.
Tharoor fires another salvo at the form of Pant-
Post the fall of Pant, the former union minister Tharoor took to Twitter yet again and wrote “One more failure for Pant, who clearly needs a break from white ball cricket. One more opportunity denied to @IamSanjuSamson who now has to wait for the @IPL to show that he’s one of the best top order batters for India”

One more failure for Pant, who clearly needs a break from white-ball cricket. One more opportunity denied to @IamSanjuSamson who now has to wait for the @IPL to show that he’s one of the best too-order bats in India. #IndvsNZ https://t.co/RpJKkDdp5n

#Rishabpant is one of the most irritating batsmen in the world rt if you agree .. this fatman should be out of the team now should make way for sanju samson. I mean come on look at pants playing abilities

@BCCI Please stop doing partiality in team selection.@IamSanjuSamson is much better than Rishab Pant. We have never seen such a quality and classic play in T20s & ODIs from Rishab.

Please consider Sanju for next team selection instead of Rishab.
Stop politics in cricket 🙏🙏
Cricket should bring back Super Subs. That would be the only way Sanju Samson ever gonna play for India. #SanjuSamson

Shikhar, hardik, Rohit don’t select #sanjusamson as they are afraid Sanju will perform good and take their place. #INDvNZ #NZvIND #BCCI #laxman #dravid we can’t win with such less score in first 15 overs

Dear @BCCI, @IamSanjuSamson already shows how to play clear cut cricket then what is the problem with selection.. don’t kill the talent #SanjuSamson
— Bharathraj⚡️ (@rajdxb14) November 30, 2022
Playing 11 for 3rd ODI IND vs NZ as expected. Yes we need 6th bowling option, infact it will be excellent if all batters can ball. Yes sanju is one dimensional, then what are Dawan, Gill, Shreyas, SKY and pant ?? Why always @IamSanjuSamson #BCCI #Sanjusamon #JusticeForSanjuSamson

this is what an unconditional love looks like. no matter how your perfomance is, you’ll keep on selected. #RishabhPant #INDvsNZ #BCCI #bcciselectioncommittee
