International cricket fans are just 9 days away from the start of the biggest event of the 2022 calendar year. The 2022 T20 World Cup starts on 16th October with the qualifying matches to take place. The tournament has lost some shine due to some of the big names missing the event due to injury. After Jonny Bairstow, Jasprit Bumrah and Dwaine Pretorius yet another name has joined the casualty list

Daryl Mitchell like to be ruled out of the world cup-

2021 T20 world cup finalists, New Zealand were dealt a major blow with just a few days left for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Daryl Mitchell has been ruled out of the world cup after suffering a blow to his hand during a practice session. The injury happened in the nets before the Tri-Series against Pakistan and Bangladesh.

New Zealand Cricket Coach has his say –

Daryl Mitchell has been in good form for New Zealand in recent times. The 31 year old score 3 centuries in a row against England earlier this year during the test series. Confirming the injury Gary Stead the coach of New Zealand cricket said “It’s a real shame for Daryl to suffer this injury on the eve of an exciting period of cricket for the side, Daryl's become a really important player to our T20 unit and we’re certainly going to miss his all-round skills and versatility in the tri-series. With our first game of the World Cup in just over two weeks, we need to take some to consider Daryl’s recovery timeline and his potential involvement in the tournament”

Pakistan and Bangladesh begin the Tri-Series –

Asian rivals Pakistan and Bangladesh began the Tri Series with the 1st game at Hagley Oval. Pakistan batted first and scored 167/5 in their 20 overs. The Pakistani middle order struggled yet again with Iftikhar scoring 13.

Chasing 168 to win, only Yasir Ali with 42 not out off 21 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes could do some damage. Liton Das (35) and Afif Hossain (25) were the other top scorers. Mohammad Wasim Jr was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/24.
