Sunil Gavaskar wants one name to be part of the Indian team soon

s

The domestic season this year has come to an end with Madhya Pradesh winning the title. MP won the final by beating domestic giants Mumbai in the final to win their first ever Ranji Title. Post the season a lot of names have come up for either batting or bowling. The likes of Shubam Sharma, Rajat Patidar, Abhimanyu Eeswaran, Yashasvi Jaiswal have all scored mountain of runs.

The man everyone is talking about –

Ranji trophy over the last two years has seen one name dominate the batting charts, and that happens to be that of Sarfaraz Naushad Khan. The 24 year old has time and again piled on the runs and this year scored nearly 1000 runs. Khan is yet to get an India call up despite being part of the India A set up for a few years.

Sunil Gavaskar wants the selectors to include Sarfaraz Khan –

Former Indian opener and batting legend, Sunil Gavaskar has now come out and had his say on the future of Sarfaraz Khan. Gavaskar said Sarfaraz Khan’s tremendous run of hundreds should bring him into contention for a place in the national team where with Rahane gone and Pujara getting one last chance to score and keep his place in the team and go on to play a century of Test matches the door could open for Sarfaraz. He certainly has banged the selection committee’s door down and it would be a real surprise if his name doesn’t figure in the squad for the next Test series”

Sarfaraz In for the Bangladesh series?

The competition in the Indian middle order is immense, but considering the patchy form of Rahane, the Indian selectors might be tempted to pick Sarfaraz Khan. There are talks of him being picked for the 2 match test series against Bangladesh in November this year. Sarfaraz was part of the Delhi Capitals unit this year but wasn’t given a long rope as he played just a handful of games. despite having the game for the shorter format, he has evolved over the years in the longest format of the game.
