Twitter reacts as Obed McCoy’s wild slower bouncer sends both Axar Patel and umpire into splits

Much was made out about the Indian batsmen struggling against left arm seamers especially in white ball cricket. While, there was some merit to that theory, one has to understand that Trent Boult, Shaheen Shah Afridi , Mitchel Starc etc are class bowlers and would trouble every batsman in the world on their day.

Obed McCoy took 6-17 in the 2nd T20

There was more fodder added to this theory when Obed McCoy recorded the best figures in T20I’s against India, taking 6-17 in the 2nd T20 of the series. Nicholas Pooran bought into that theory and included another left arm seamer , Dominic Drakes in the next game and the games yesterday. However, that didn’t help as Drakes had a poor outing in the 3rd T20 and Windies lost to India.

In the 4th T20I, it almost looked like India were out to prove a point and everyone just weng after Obed McCoy which resulted in the left armer going for a whopping 66 runs in his 4 overs, grabbing 2 wickets in the bargain. In fact, such was the pressure on the Rajasthan Royals seamer that on one instance he tried a slower bouncer but the ball failed to land on the pitch. This incident left both, Axar Patel (the batsman) and the umpire in splits.
