Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022: 4th round results as huge scoring continues

The 4th round of games during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 saw some tall scores yet again, while the bowlers too had their say in some low scoring encounters. Lets take a look at the results of the games which was played on Thursday.

Karnataka vs Delhi – (KAR won the game by 4 wickets) –

Bowlers held the sway as Karnataka eked out a closely hard fought win over Delhi. Karnataka won the toss and bowled first as they bowled out Delhi for 159. Lalit Yadav top scored with 59 off 100 balls while Nitish Rana scored 30. Koushik and Gopal picked 3 wickets each

R. Samarth (59) and Manish Pandey with 48 led the Karnataka chase down the score with 4 wickets in hand and over 20 overs to spare. Mayank Yadav picked 4/47 from his 4 overs while Navdeep Saini picked 2 wickets.

Vidarbha vs Meghalaya (VID win the game by 9 wickets)

Bhute’s 4/21 destroyed the Meghalaya batting as they were bowled out for just 111. Rajesh Bishnoi’s 53 was one of the two batters to reach double figures for Meghalaya. S. Raghunath 45* and A. Sarwate 48* saw Vidarbha romp home to a win with 22.5 overs to spare.

Assam vs Sikkim (ASM win the game by 180 runs)

Riyan Parag continued his good form with the bat to score his 2nd ton of the tournament. Assam scored 307 from their 50 overs as Parag scored 128 off 93 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes. Sibshankar Roy with 50, AP Das with 47 and Puryakasta with 34 were the top scorers.

Chasing 308 to win, only Tamang’s 40 and 36 by Yepcha were the two double digit scorers for Sikkim. Riyan Parag got the final two wickets of the game to cap off an amazing day for the 21 year old.

Jharkhand vs Rajasthan – (JHA win the game by 5 wickets)

Rajasthan batted first and scored an impressive 270 on the board thanks to century by opener Yash Kothari. The opener scored 139 off 144 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes, while M. Lomror and A. Menaria scord 52 and 41 respectively.

Chasing 271 to win, Jharkhand saw opener Utkarsh Singh top score with 91, while veteran Saurabh Tiwari scored 76, with young wicket keeper batter Kumar Kushagra scoring an unbeaten 35 ball 41 to help his side to a win with an over to spare.

Bengal vs Puducherry – (BEN win the game by 8 wickets)

Paras Dogra continued his good form with the bat as top scored with 63 from 63 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Arun Karthik was the 2nd highest scorer with 34 as Puducherry was bowled out for 197. Puri and Shahbaz Ahmed picked 3 wickets each while Mukesh Kumar and Pramanik picked 2 each. Chasing 198 to win, A. Majumdar with 100 off 106 with 14 fours and a six and 56 by Gharami helped Bengal win the game with 11 overs to spare.

Railways vs Services – (RLY win the game by 103 runs)

Shivam Chaudhary struck yet another century as Mohammad Saif scored an impressive half century to help Railways score 347. Chaudhary scored 125 off 126 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Saif scored 86 off 71 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes, captain Karn Sharma then swung his bat to score 14 ball 40 with 2 fours and 4 sixes to help Railways reach 347.

Ravi Chauhan top scored with 65 off 59 balls with 11 fours, while Amit Pachhara 54 off 46 balls with 7 fours and a six. Other top scorers were Shubham Rohill with 48 and captain Rajat Paliwal with 46. Yuvraj Singh with 4/48 and Karn Sharma with 5/39 were the destroyers in chief with the ball.

TN vs Goa (TN won the game by 57 runs)

Sai Sudarshan and Jagadeesan scored centuries for 2nd game in a row as the pair added 276 for the 1st wicket. Sudarshan scored 117 off 112 balls with 13 fours, while Jagadeesan scored 168 off 140 balls with 15 fours and 6 sixes. Quick fire innings of 31 by Aparjit and 29 by Shah Rukh Khan helped TN reach a massive 373.

Openers Ishan Gadekar with 51 and SS Kauthnakar with 67 gave Goa a good start by adding 102 in the first 16 overs. 50 off 55 balls by Eknath Kerkar kept the score ticking as 62 by S. Lad and 42 by A. Goankar weren’t enough for Goa to chase down the score.

Maharashtra vs Mumbai (MAH win the game by 21 runs)

The game between Maharashtra and Mumbai was a high scoring encounter and a thrilling one at that. Batting 1st, MAH scored 342/2 from their 50 overs with Rahul Tripathi scoring 156 off 137 balls with 18 fours and 2 sixes. Pawan Shah scored 84 off 104 balls, while captain Ankit Bawne scored 34 off 28 balls and Azim Kazi scored 50 off 32 balls

Chasing 343, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored with 142 off 135 balls with 14 fours and 4 sixes. Maharashtra spinner S. Bacchav then ran through the Mumbai line up claiming 6/46 to eke out a 21 run win with an over to spare.

Kerala vs Chhattisgarh (KER won the game by 8 wickets)

4/25 by Akhil Scaria helped Kerala bowl out Chhattisgarh for 171. Ashutosh with 40 and Ajay Mandal with 30 top scored for Chhattisgarh. Chasing 172, opener P. Rahul with 92 not out help Kerala win the game in the 37th over.

Baroda vs Odisha (BRD win the game by 148 runs)

69 each by Pratyush Kumar and Vishnu Solanki and 55 by Bhanu Pania helped Baroda scored 284/7 from their 50 overs. Lukman Meriwali then took 4/35 to bowl out Odisha for 135 with Rajesh Dhuper top scoring with 49 and K. Biswal scoring 44 as Odisha were bowled out for 136 in the 36th over.

Saurashtra vs Gujarat (SAU win the game by 107 runs)

100 by Arpit Vasavada and 56 by Pujara helped Saurashtra reach 285 in their 50 overs. Vasavada scored 100 off 86 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes, while Pujara’s 56 came off 90 balls with 7 fours.

Parth Bhut with 4/57 then saw Gujarat get bowled out for 178 with Bharghav Merai top scoring with 34. Unadkat and D. Jadeja picked 2 wickets each while Sakariya picked 1 wicket as Gujarat were bowled out in the 42nd over.

Andhra vs Bihar (AND win the game by 132 runs)

Ashwin Hebbar tore the Bihar bowling to score 154 off 141 balls with 10 fours and 6 sixes. 52 each by Vihari and Bhui helped Andhra reach a massive 302 from their allotted 50 overs.

Former Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers player Veer Pratap Singh top scored with 60 as Bihar got bowled out in the 45th over to give Andhra a huge win.

Haryana vs Arunachal (HAR won the match by 306 runs)

Haryana scored 397 runs from 50 overs with centuries by openers C. Bishnoi (134) and Y. Singh (131). 4/24 by Rahul Tewatia saw Arunachal Pradesh get bowled out for 91.

UP vs Hyderabad (UP win the game by 7 wickets)

73 by M. Jaiswal and 51 by Rahul Buddhi helped Hyderabad reach 256/9 from their 50 overs. Aryan Juyal scored 100 not out of 136 balls with 7 fours and a six and was supported by Madhav Kaushik with 70 and Rinku Singh with 78* off 48 balls to reach the target in the 49th over.

MP vs Uttarakhand (MP win the game by ten runs)

Shubham Sharma scored 100 off 110 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Yash Dubey scored 72 off 80 balls with 10 fours and a six. Captain of the side Aditya Srivatava scored 55 as MP scored 276 on the board.

Swapnil Singh top scored with 82 off 89 balls with 7 fours and a six, while Aditya Tare scored 52 off 50 balls. Despite this Uttarakhand fell 10 runs short. Shubham Sharma and Kuldeep Sen picked 3 wickets each to give MP the win.

Tripura vs HP (TRI won the game by 39 runs)

Tripura shocked holders Himachal Pradesh as they came out on top at Delhi. Batting first, Tripura scored 261 thanks to 69 by Murasingh and contributions from B. Ghosh (40), D. Khatri (46) and W. Saha with 33.

Chasing 262 to win, Shubham Arora top scored with 62, while N. Gangta with 44 and Rishi Dhawan with 45 tried in vain as HP fell short by 39 runs. Shubham Ghosh with 3 wickets was the lead wicket taker for Tripura.

Punjab vs J and K (PUN win the game by 8 wickets)

J and K batted first and were bowled out for 227 with S. Khajuraia top scoring with 72 and S. Pundhir scoring 58. Chasing 228 for a win, Abhishek Sharma scored 89 off 69 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes, while Anmolpreet Singh top scored with 101 off 63 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes. Punjab got home to an easy with over 21 overs left to play.

Chandigarh vs Manipur (CHD win the game by 6 wickets)

Manipur batted first and were bowled out for 138, AB Muhammad and L Keishanbhagam top scored with 38 each. Sandeep Sharma picked 5/18 with the ball. Chandigarh got the win in the 26th over with Amit Kaushik scoring 45*
