Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 : Results from round 5 of games played

It was a busy day for the Indian domestic cricket fans on Saturday 19th November, 2022. There were some amazing displays of batting and some stunning bowling performances and you can read the recap of all the results here.

Delhi vs Sikkim (DEL won the game by ten wickets)

3 wickets each by Nitish Rana and Lalit Yadav bowled out Sikkim for 76 in the 35th over. Pankaj Rawat top scored for Sikkim with 32. Delhi chased down the 77 run target in the 10th over with Dhruv Shorey not out on 43 and K. Bhidhuri not out on 33.

Mumbai vs Mizoram (MUM win the game by 7 wickets)

Batting first, Mizoram scored 188/9 from their 50 overs. Sreevasts Goswami top scored with 56 off 78 balls, while Taruwar Kohli scored 47 off 88 balls. Royston Dias was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai with 3/30 from his 10 overs.

Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal began briskly adding 86 for the 1st wicket inside 11 overs. Shaw scored 54 off 39 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes as he became the first batter to fall. Armaan Jaffer and Jaiswal then added 56 runs more before Jaiswal fell for 63 off 45 balls with 10 fours and a six. Jaffer was out for 55 off 40 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Rahane 16* took his team home as Sarfaraz Khan hit the winning runs.

Jharkhand vs Meghalaya (JHA win the game by 192 runs)

Batting first, Jharkhand scored a massive 321 from their allotted 50 overs. Centuries by Utkarsh Singh and Vikash Singh flattened the Meghalaya bowlers. Utkarsh scored 128* from 143 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes, while Vikash scored 112 off 111 balls with 14 fours and a six.

Meghalaya were then routed for 129 all out as left arm seamer Sushant Mishra and centurion Vikash Singh picked 3 wickets each. Punit Bisht was the top scorer for Meghalaya with 50 off 42 balls with the aid of 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Bengal vs Railways (BEN win the game by 57 runs)

Railways won the toss and chose to bowl first, as Bengal skipper Abhimanyu Eeswaran scored an impressive 59 ball 50 with 9 fours. The top scorer was Abhishek Porel who scored 54 off 88 balls with 6 fours, while Writtick Chatterjee scored 37 to help Bengal reach 248. D. Soni and Karn Sharma picked 3 wickets each for the Railways.

Chasing 249 to win, the Bengal bowlers did not leash the railways batters off the leash. Manoj Tiwari with 3 wicket was the main wicket taker for Bengal. Geet Puri and Shahbaz Ahmed picked 2 wickets. Upendra Yadav with 39 was the top scorer for Railways.

Assam vs Karnataka (ASM win the game by 6 wickets)

There was a shock at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata as Assam beat the fancied Karnataka side. Batting first, Karnataka scored 296/ 4 from 50 overs. Mayank Agarwal, began well with 83 ball 64 with 5 fours and 3 sixes. It was Nikin Jose who top scored for Karnataka. Jose scored 100 off 106 balls with 9 fours and a six, Manish Pandey with 58* and M. Bhandage’s 19 ball 35 gave Karnataka the final push needed.

Assam got off to a good start with 50 by opener Rahul Hazarika which came from 84 balls with 5 fours and a six. S. Puryakashta was the main man who got Assam the win as he scored 112 not out from 102 balls with 17 fours. Sibshankar Roy continued his good form with the bat scoring 66 not out off 49 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Maharashtra vs Services – (MAH win the game by 61 runs)

Maharashtra batted first and scored 304 runs from their 50 overs. Rahul Tripathi scored his 2nd successive century for Maharashtra. Tripathi scored 111 off 113 runs with 14 fours and a six. Ankit Bawne scored 73 off 85 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Abhishek Tiwari and Diwesh Pathania picked 3 wickets each.

Shubham Rohilla scored yet another century for Services as he hit 114 runs off 102 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes. That knock wasn’t enough as Maharashtra bowling knocked out Services for 243. Manoj Ingale was the lead wicket taker with 4/40.

Rajasthan vs Vidarbha (RAJ win the game by 6 wickets)

Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bowl as they bowled out Vidarbha for 240 in the 48th over. Opener Faiz Fazal scored 36 and Atharva Taide top scored with 51 off 74 balls. G. Satish with 39 and Akshay Wadkar scored 41.

Yash Kothari top scored for Rajasthan in the chase of 241, as he stayed not out on 109 from 118 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Mahipal Lomror was the 2nd highest scorer with 81 off 82 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Jammu and Kashmir vs Odisha (J and K win the game by 3 wickets)

Odisha batted first and scored 268/6 from their 50 overs. Skipper Abhishek Raut top scored with 75, as there was useful contribution from Rajesh Pattnaik with 53. M. Yousuf with 2 and Y. Singh with 3 wickets were the lead wicket takers for J and K.

Shubham Khajuria(78) and Shubham Pundir with 57 were the men instruemental inm J and K’s chase. Sahil Lotra’s 44 off 40 balls helped J and reach the target with 7 balls to spare and 3 wickets in hand.

Gujarat vs Tripura (GUJ win the game by 7 wickets)

Arzan Nagwaswalla’s 5/40 helped Gujarat bundle out Tripura for 228. Captain, W. Saha with 81 off 89 and Murasingh with 61 were the top scorers for Tripura.

Het Patel’s 74 not out off 80 balls and Piyush Patel’s 92 balls 67 helped Gujarat win the game with 5 overs to spare.

Punjab vs MP (PUN win the game by 26 runs)

Kuldeep Sen’s 5/36 went in vain as the MP batters crumbled under pressure chasing 233 to win. Mandeep Singh top scored with 90 for Punjab which came off 97 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Chasing 233, it was Saransh Jain who top scored with 43 for MP as Siddharth Kaul picked 3 wickets, while Abhishek Sharma and Harpreet Brar picked 2 wickets each.

Chandigarh vs UP (CHD win the game by 5 wickets)

UP batted first and scored 309 on the board thanks to the ton by opener Madhav Kaushik. Thew 24 year old scored 134 off 139 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes. Fellow opener Aryan Juyal scored 75 off 92 balls with 7 fours and a six, while Rinku Singh scored 73 off 40 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Chasing 310 to win, 233 run stand for the 3rd wicket between Arslan Khan and B. Lather helped Chandigarh to a 5 wicket win in the last ball of the game. Khan scored 141 not out off 144 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Lather meanwhile scored 100 off 105 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Goa vs Arunachal Pradesh (Goa win the match by 5 wickets)

Amulya Pandrekar picked 5/41 as Yangfo top scored with 63 for Arunachal with Techi Doria scoring 50. 68 by SS Kauthankar and 62 by S. Prabhudesai helped Goa win the game in the 26th over.

Saurashtra vs HP (SAU win the game by 8 wickets)

5/23 by Jaydev Unadkat bowled out defending champs HP for 130 with Sahil Verma top scoring with 82. HP at one stage were 22/7 with Unadkat running riot with the new ball. chasing 131 to win, Pujara 31* and Sheldon Jackson with 56* off 53 balls with the aid of 7 fours and 2 sixes got Saurashtra home in the 28th over.

Chhattisgarh vs Bihar (CHG win the game by 63 runs)

Harpreet Singh Bhatia scored 120 off 108 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes to help Chhattisgarh reach 304. Chasing 305, Bihar were all out for 241 despite the 86 ball 100 with 5 fours and 10 sixes by Bipin Saurabh.

TN vs Haryana (TN win the game by 151 runs)

N. Jagadeesan scored his 3rd century on the trot as he scored 128 off 123 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes. Sai Sudarshan scored 67, while Shah Rukh Khan scored 46 to help TN reach 284. Sandeep Warrier, Mohammad and Sonu Yadav picked 2 wickers, while Aparjith with 3 wickets bowled out Haryana for 133. Rahul Tewatia top scored for Haryana with 34 off 39 balls with 5 fours.

Andhra vs Kerala (AND win the game by 76 runs)

Batting 1st, Andhra scored 259 thanks to 46 by Ricky Bhui as none of the batters reached 50. Fanoos and Sijomon picked 3 wickets each for Kerala. 3 wickets by B. Ayyappa and N. Reddy bowled out Kerala for 183. Chandran was the top scorer with 41, while captain Sachin Baby scored 35.

Hyderabad vs Manipur (HYD win the game by 7 wickets)

Manipur batted first and scored 191, as Bikash Singh top scored with 44. M Shashank picked 3 wickets, while Tilak Varma and Rohit Rayudu picked 2 wickets each. Chasing 192 to win, HYD were struggling at 39/3 that’s when Tilak Varma came to the rescue with unbeaten 126 off 77 balls with 14 fours and 7 sixes.

Uttarakhand vs Nagaland (UTK win the game by 7 wickets)

Batting first, Nagaland was bowled out for 146 with Jonathon top scoring with 48. A. Sudha with 52 and 31* by Swapnil Singh and 30 by Kamal Singh helped Uttarakhand with the game in the 25th over.
